Good but watch out for the shopper's special
It was clean and well maintained. The service was pretty good. I thought it was a good value although there are cheaper options in the same area. There are maybe 5 hotels/motels on the same block.
However - we booked with what looked to be a confusing shoppers' special. They have a special rate that is supposed to require 2 nights with one night at $169. The special is supposed to include $80 in gift cards. I think it's $50 valid at the outlets next door and $30 for BJ's Brewhouse a mile (or so) away. Frankly - I don't see the advantage to this since the AAA rates are about $90 and don't require 2 nights. In addition, you can book last minute rooms for $79/night. You'd essentially be paying $80-90 more for one night just to get $80 worth of gift cards.
We saw a $99 rate from Marriott for just one night with a listed $80 in gift cards. We also could have gotten $90.25 as the AAA rate or $79 for the last minute rate. We called up and inquired with the night clerk who said it should be valid. When we arrived, the manager informed us that Marriott is putting up the wrong info and that a 2 night stay with one night at $169 is needed for that special. He did modify the rate to $79, which was the last minute rate.
Other than the misunderstanding about the rate, we were treated well. The elevator did break down during our stay, but we generally took the stairs. The breakfast was fine, with a self-service waffle iron, lots of bananas/apples, juice, milk, cereal, and Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwiches. They had a notice that they were changing all the TVs to flat-panels and might have service personnel to enter the rooms (unless the guest objected), but always with a manager present. The complimentary wireless internet access was a plus.
