Holiday Inn Expstes Solana Bch, Solana Beach

The location is Great... You can walk to the beach, close to the Del Mar Fairgrounds, local restuarants, and most important Shopping. They have excellent service and very clean rooms. The beds are very comfortable and the free hot breakfast in the morning was great. I recomend this hotel to everybody.

* great check-in experience: pleasant, competent, full of local information * loved the room -- huge & quiet * nice walk to the beach * nice walk to The Belly Up Tavern for great live music, even at night * great breakfast room, but even nicer to walk the half-mile to a superb little restaurant with great food * would definitely consider staying here instead of in San Diego proper -- it's a ten-minute drive and better value for money

I did not like the fact that I requested a non smoking room when I made my reservation and was given the smelliest smoker room. I have never stayed in a smoking room but I know that I will never again do so. The balcony was nice but the generator next door was loudly obnoxious so this made it impossible to enjoy. The beds were uncomfortable also and the hotel does not cool the hallways of the hotel and the pool only goes to 4 feet deep and 12 feet length approx. The internet connection is absolutely the worst, the entire week I stayed I think I was able to stay online a sum total of a few hours as it kept going down (they blamed it on COX.) Other than that, parking underneath keeps your vehicle cool and the breakfast was decent though average. The staff is extremely helpful. I might stay again if I can be guaranteed a non smoking room.
