Novotel Batam, Batam

I use this website to having though to travell. My company send me to have a meeting in Novotel Batam for 2N3D. It was nice. Good staff, good ambience, nice lunch buffet. I wish I can show you my picture. They said that I got the new renovated room. It was nice & modern. Simple & modern. Breakfast have a lot of choice from international menu to local menu. They serve live cooking on breakfast. When I stay there, they serve Lontong Sayur & the next day are Nasi Lemak. Ha ha ha Free wifi internet everywhere you go around this hotel. Due the meeting from 8.00 AM-5.00 PM, I choose to stay in the hotel. Beside that, you must take a taxi to travelling around Batam. Not sudgesting for walking. They provide free shuttle bus to shopping area. But since I don't like to go to shopping, so I pass those service. I take seevral picture for Room & meeting Room. I will give this picture to my company, because we will have several meeting in Batam and this hotel can provide what we need.

I am newly living in Singapore and decided to go for a weekend in Batam. I found the Novotel on the web and all of the pictures looked good so I thought I would give it a try. The pictures posted must have been taken 20 years ago. This hotel is dirty and very run down. The room was full of old well worn out furniture. The sofa had holes in the fabric and the bed sagged so bad in the middle it was almost unusable. The surrounding area is scary. There is a night club accross the street and I went to walk there and was stopped by one of the hotel staff and he strongly recommended that I not leave the hotel. The only positive experience was the warm and friendly staff. Oh there is also a descent bar downstairs. In all I highly suggest that you try somewhere else if you are looking for something nice.

service very very poor hotel room problematic very very bad experience with hotel

i went there to stay because my company had planned a sales meeting there. it had a grand look at the lobby area and we were excited if the room was just as grand. but to our disappointment the room was filled with old furniture. you can see that all the wooden furniture needed to be replaced. the towels was not clean as there is patches of stain on it and we had to request to clean white towel again. there were only bath towel with and face or hand towel at all. the bed sheet was also not clean. you can see that the sheet are yellowish and my friend had a sweaty smelly pillow. the next day when we returned to the room after our tired meeting, we can't find the towel. it were throw into the wardrobe and it was really throw and not hang on the hanger. what kind of housekeeping is that? the breakfast was the worse i had under the NOVOTEL brand. Shouldn't they have a consistent standard for the brand classified under "NOVOTEL"? if my first experience for NOVOTEL is at Batam, i will never book any hotel stay in Bangkok and Singapore.
