Microtel Inn & Suites Appleton, Appleton

I stayed two nights with my husband and 4 month old baby. As I was cleaning up the morning of checking out, I found a used sex toy and several dirty condoms under the bed. I am still haggling with the hotel for a refund. For some reason, they don't seem to understand that I DON'T want to pay to sleep in an obviously unclean and potentially dangerous room with my baby. Dealing with customer service has been a long drawn-out pain. They obviously don't care about their customers at all, so don't bother with this hotel. There are plenty of others in the area for the same price, choose those. You won't regret it.

I got to stay here for $29 a night on a special. Out of the 3 staff, only 1 of them gave me good customer service--the others were rude and didn't care about my visit. The room was nice, accomodations were nice, but the free breakfast was very limited, and they never put out enough food for all of the people staying (especially for the belgian waffles). I would stay here again for the rate, but you will need to rent a car, as there is no shuttle service.

Liked: Convenient location, clean room, helpful staff (went out of way to fix broken TV remote control. Disliked: For whatever reason, I wound up in a handicapped-accessible room.

I was very upset with my stay here. My room was very clean, but the shower leaked, which I didn't realize until I was done showering, and my fresh clothes, which I had placed on a towel on the floor next to the shower, were soaking wet. Also, at checkin the night I arrived (I arrived at about 3:30 in the morning) there were no open parking spots in their parking lot, so the desk clerk told me I would have to park in a parking lot across the street. I was very upset that I, a paying customer at this hotel, had to park in a different hotel's parking lot across the street. I also had trouble checking in, because when I arrived, the clerk said he was doing a computer audit and couldn't look up my reservation, so I had to give him all my information again. When I checked out the next morning, I told the different desk clerk all of these problems that I had, and she didn't even offer me a discount. I was only in my room for about 8 hours, had to park in a different parking lot, had trouble checking in, and had to wear the same clothes that I had worn the day before because my only set of clean clothes were soaking wet, and all she offered me was a discount on my next stay. Are you kidding me? I wouldn't want to stay there again after all that trouble.

Good location, but the smallest room I've stayed in! I initially booked it for 2 nights, and when I checked in, I wanted to change the rezervation to include only one night, but the extremely rude hotel clerk told me they cannot do it... I would never stay there again!
