no room AC in spring *or* fall
By ,
It's unforgiveable that this hotel doesn't have air conditioning available in the guestrooms in the spring/fall. We were there in Oct. 2010 and everyone's rooms were sweltering. We asked for and got a fan (one of the huge industrial variety) and that didn't even help much, even when you were sitting directly in front of it. I was unable to sleep because of the heat and sweat pouring off me, so we talked to the front desk staff and they transferred us to the Conference Center hotel, at the same price, for our planned stay. I missed having a suite, but it was nirvana having the AC in the other hotel. I won't go back to the Suites.

The Staff should work in the fast food industry
By ,
Ten bucks per day for wifi service. Whatever. I guess you don't care if your on someone else's nickel. But, I arrived at 9pm with reservations and was asked to sit in the lobby until my room was cleaned, a half hour later. Plus, the staff was thoroughly uncaring. This was my worst hotel experience ever.

Most accommodating place I've ever stayed....
By ,
We were very pleased with the facilities, the service and the hospitality of this hotel. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Cleveland. The location is excellent - just a short block from the main entrance of Cleveland Clinic with shuttle service. Good hotel!

Sooo disappointed!!
By ,
We made our reservations on line and paid $177 per night, plus $16 for parking. We were under the impression it was the Hotel attached to the Clinic which we were willing to pay more since my husband had an appt. at the Heart Center at 7:00 a.m. and we knew we could walk from there under cover as well as have our dinner in a nice restaurant. WRONG!! When we were told the reservations were for the Suites, arrived there after practically losing our car in the potholes, only to discover an old, decrepid, place in desperate need of remodeling in EVERY way. The room was just a room, nothing suite about it, sheets didn't fit & the spread & dust ruffle were dirty & wrinkled. No individual controls for the room & it was hot, stuffy so we did not get a good nights sleep that was needed for the testing in the a.m. The restaurant was a joke so we had to drive to the Warehouse Dist. to find a nice restaurant. The television is of course old, if you want wi-fi you have to pay extra per day.........unbelieveable "rip-off" in every way. The gentleman checking out in front of us was credited $100 because he felt the same as we did. We weren't offered the credit & were late for our appt. at the Clinic since it's such a construction mess. Not even water in the room to quench your thirst from the heat, never used a blanket all night. Needless to say we will never stay there again under any circumstances, there are so many nice hotels in the city for much less. They should be ashamed to charge that much money.

Stay somewhere else
By ,
We picked this hotel because it was on the property of Cleveland Clinic for my husbands surgery. When we got to the hotel the main lobby had a leak and parts of it were sectioned off. The room was a good size but our sheets were not clean and the remote control was not working. One of the selling points for me on staying here was that they have an exercise room, but when I went to use it there was a sign saying that it was out of order. I went to ask the staff why the room was not in service, and they said that's where the leak was coming from but I can still exercise there. I proceded to go into the room and found that they had very loud de-humidifiers which was pretty annoying. When I asked the manager on duty to move us to the Intercontinental Hotel and Conference Center they informed me that the price will be much higher which we couldn't afford. I then asked them if I can turn off the loud de-humidifier for the time I am working out, and they did not allow me to do that. This was a pretty stressful time for us, and this made it a lot more uncomfortable. I would definatly not recommend staying in this facility.

Check the net!!!!

When I called the hotel direct the rate I was given was well over $200.00, I can't believe they have it for $89.00 on here. Very nice hotel and if your going to the Cleveland Clinic it is such easy access. Loved the size of the room/rooms.

We really can't wait to go back!
By ,
We don't pay that much more for a room at the suites than we would pay at any other hotel/motel in the area, but the service and facilities are far superior to what the others have. The people are polite, neat, professional, helpful and prompt. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable and if, by chance, anything is missing they bring it up when you need it or within 20-30 minutes - if you say you don't need it ASAP. They're very kind to my daughter and most go out of their way to greet her as well. The restaurant is a little pricey, but the staff really does try to please you and make your meal experience enjoyable. And what's not to like about them looking up directions, maps and local information for you?! They found info and directions for the zoo for us on one visit... they even drew their own map on the back of the paper. They also have the shuttle taking you to the clinic/buildings which is prompt and you're a few minutes walk from a pharmacy. From time to time the grout in the shower/bath isn't the cleanest or sometimes you smell an inconsiderate dolt smoking (it's non-smoking), but that's the worst I can say about the Suites.

Poor Air Quality for those here for Cleveland Clinic
By ,
The rooms here look pretty, the layout is nice and the cleaning service is excellent. My big complaint is, having pulmonary problems and asthma, the rooms do NOT have individual temperature control. We are here at the end of May and the entire building is running in heating mode only. The room is HOT and HUMID and we have no control over it. I am having to use my asthma rescue inhaler and nebulizer constantly and the humidity is so high, you can't hang anything to dry... it took two days for a small pajama top to dry. The other problem is that the hotel's own food is TERRIBLE. The menu describes the food like you're going to get something delicious. I ordered the "Beer Battered Fish with "Dirty Maryland Fries and Cole Slaw". What I got was frozen fish patties, plain frozen french fries and what tasted like somewhere below Kentucky Fried Chicken slaw. This cost 12.95. The next day I tried "Loaded Nachos". These were exacty the type of nachos you get at a high school ball game. Bulk low-quality chips with some kind of cheese-food-product sauce on it. It came with a side of sour cream and "guacamole". The guacamole was on par with Taco Bell's guacamole. This cost 10.00. On a possitive note, you are within walking distance of a food court in the Cleveland Clinic Surgical Center. Also a Burger King, McDonalds and a very nice deli. You can also ride the shuttle service to other Clinic buildings, but expect a ride time of 30 minutes to any building, even if its a block away. The Cleveland Clinic Campus is enormous. If you have problems walking, like I do, because of pain, recent surgery or pulmonary problems, you are stuck with the food in the hotel. My advise...bring someone with you who can walk to bring back lunch or take a bus to a grocery for fresh fruit, yogurt and other staples. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. The "broadband" internet connection is slow. If you use such programs as Microsoft Messenger, you WILL be dropped on the average 1-2 times an hour. The system is set up to run very slow, 10 mbps top speed. Again, the air quality is TERRIBLE. If you have breathing problems or heat intolerance, you will be very uncomfortable and unable to get a good night's sleep. You have to weigh the difference between the location convenience of location verses the importance of breathing problems.
