I would hardly give this hotel even a half star.
By ,
The hotel positions itself as a five-star hotel. I would hardly give this hotel even a half star. Check in. The first thing that impressed me was the quality of the paper on which restaurants schedule was printed. The paper was crumbled with ink blots and had curved unreadable text. It seems that printer and paper has never been changed since hotel opening. Then we’ve been asked to sign paper that we oblige not to purchase food, not to bring food to the hotel and not to eat food. In case hotel management will find food in our room the food will be confiscated (and probably eaten by management later). This paper is nothing but to laugh. I have never seen anything similar. The room that the hotel provided was with separate beds despite of the fact that we asked for a king-size bad. Hotel management told us that they can’t provide us room with king-size bad because all king-size bed rooms are currently occupied. However two rooms nearby with king-size bad were not occupied. Later these rooms were occupied by people who asked for separate beds. It seems that all hotel stuff don’t want to help you. It seems that they are even happy to make you disappointed. For any services they want to get extra money from you. The room was dirty with crumpled sheets. Cartoons were dirty and with wholes. On the table we found dusty booklets of spa salon. There was no iron in the room. No tea cattle. No cups. On the second day my wife cleared furniture in the bathroom. Originally the furniture had white color. The idea is brilliant but not for Egypt. In the bathroom we found shampoos and body gels. However the producer of these goods was unknown. And that is not suppressing for Egypt. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE ANY TROUBLES WITH THE SKIN TAKE SHAMPOOS, BODY GEL AND SOAP (BETTER ANTIBACTERIAL) WITH YOU. There was no tap in the bath. At first we were suppressed, however when we saw the color of the water we understand why the tap was not provided. The water was rusty with strong smell. Our room had in-room safe. I put documents to the safe. In the morning I was not able to open the safe (in the evening I double checked the safe to make sure it is working). There was an error. Without leaving the room I called reception and asked them to send someone to open the safe. After the safe was opened I went to reception and asked them to provide me safe at reception. They asked me why I need safe at reception if I have in-room safe. I explained the situation and told that after this incident I don’t trust in-room safe. Near in-room safe you will find paper with something like “Safe for play”. Under this text in small font you will read that hotel is not responsible for any valuable things left in in-room safe. Also at one of hotel booklets I read that due to Egyptian laws hotel is not responsible for any losses in the rooms. Realizing this I put remaining valuable things like camera into suitcase and locked it. The key was always with me. The room has central air conditioner as well. I have never seen so old control panel. When switched on air condition is very noise. It is impossible to sleep. Hotel stuff leaves plates with food in hotel corridor. Some time the plates are left for half a day. As a result big red ants live in corridors. First breakfast surprised us greatly. Drinks: yesterday boiled tea and coffee, also something that they call juice (strange liquid made from water and aromatic powder). It was possible to eat only bread, boiled eggs and omelet. BE READY THAT THE QUALITY OF EGYPTIAN FOOD IS MEASURED BY THE FREQUENCY YOU USE TOILET AFTER EATING SOMETHING.

Pay 5* get 2* holiday
By ,
We booked for what we thought was a 5* hotel...we got 2* resort. Room OK pool OK but the rat seen taking a dip in another pool was offputting. The food and servive in the Nefertitti restuarant was awful, same every day, badly cooked, dessets still frozen, empty food trays not replenished for ages, tables not cleared or relaid, played hunt the tea/coffee every morning.Sunbeds and sun umbrellas were dirty and some broken etc. We have stayed in other hotels in the area therefore our expectations of a "Sheraton" hotel were high however they were not met. The resort was definately 2* and I would not recommend it to anyone.

nice overall
By ,
main hotel and villas have 5* rating, resorts have 4*. This is for those who expect more from resort, though i found it very pleasant and comfy..Room was large overlooking the pool , bathroom was less than i expected almost like underfit for this class of hotel. No direct access to sea is available, you have to cross a pontoon and jump from there. Also if you have small children keep in mind the wind that is constant. Bargain for the taxi to drive you to Naama, though there's nothing much to see there. If you go to Sharm to relax it will do you good.

Sheraton Sharm
By ,
Just returned from a week at the Sheraton Sharm Hotel. Booked with Best Travel first time we have used this firm and we had no complains, good price and the met and greet facility spot on. Representative polite punctual and more importantly not pushy. Hotel clean and well run, the rooms were large and not disappointing, excellent view from the large private balcony, beds large and comfortable (green rooms are twin bedded, blue double bedded) Bathroom also large, good mirrors, hairdryer in a drawer under the basin, adapters required round, two pin Room service efficient and polite. Bath water is brown but not noticeable if you shower! Plenty of hot water. Hotel pool disappointing, small and not more than a plunge pool, this is a disadvantage if you are not a strong swimmer. The weather although very hot had daily strong winds which in turn produced choppy conditions for swimming. We were told that the hotel had 12 pools around the resort but finding them would take up most of the day! There are no first aid facilities around the beach/pools area therefore my advice is to ensure that you take plasters/savlon and do purchase the swimming socks We did not take this advice on the 1st couple of days and resulted in cut feet. You can purchase them in the Hotel shop for 3.50 (same price as the town). Hotel food relatively expensive (compared to the town) but similar price to the UK. One important point is there is no facilities to purchase soft drinks except in the bar area, although a large cold mineral water from the bar only cost 1.10 and saves bringing it from town. We did purchase our mixers in town (MUCH cheaper!) but beware, they do not like you to bring your own food/drink into the resort. Solution is to use a backpack when entering the Hotel (not plastic carrier bags) and do not purchase tins, as they will set off the metal detectors which you have to go through when entering the Hotel. Breakfast rather mediocre, but excellent coffee! Taxis cost 4.20 from reception to town and 3.00 back in the blue/white taxis. Town itself plenty of cheap eateries and good shopping especially if you like to barter! Highlight of the holiday was a day trip to Cairo by plane , booked in the town cost approx 130.00 pp- used a firm called Orbit Tours and wasnt disappointed. Definitely a must do! Overall we had a great holiday and the hotel was good value for the price. Sorry its a long report but I used the reviews before I went and know that they are a great help when planning a vacation.

Relax away from the hustle & bustle
By ,
We stayed at the Sheraton Sharm in October and it was fabulous. We were upgraded to a Junior suite, which was total luxury. We had 3 terrace areas to ourselves and our own comfy sun-longers. Not many people knew this, but there are 3 pools, located on 3 levels. Most people lounged around the main pool, which got quite busy at times. However, when we ventured further up the grounds we found a perfect retreat. We literally had the whole sunning area and pool to ourselves! Highly recommended little secret...! The food was good, though it did get a little boring with the limited variety of restaurants. The down-side to being outside of the main town of Naama Bay. You have to pay for taxi or shuttle bus to go out and try the restaurants (of which there are MANY to choose from in town!). In that sense we did feel we were missing out. The hotel has its own dive-centre - Aquarius Diving, where they do daily trips to Ras Mohammed, Tiran and occassionally Thistlegorm. It was pretty expensive - about GBP60 for 2 dives a day including equipment, excl lunch and national park fees. This i found quite dissappointing as Sharm is suppose to be a dive mecca, yet it costs so much to do it! Another downer with the diving is that it is absolutely rammed packed with other divers at the popular dive sites of Ras Mohammed. Overall, I would recommend the Sheraton Sharm for its quality service, rooms and facilities.

Resort is a no no!
By ,
We just got back from Sharm. We specifically requested the hotel based on the reviews on line, so so glad we did. There is a world of difference between the hotel and the resort. We had a toddler and a 4 year old with us, during this trip so the hotel room was perfect, not much of a walk to the pool and the beach. And the house reef will blow your mind, and I mean it is absolutely amazing. The only problem was the winds would pick up early morning and they would not allow people to snorkle off the reef at the hotel's jetty because of the strong current. Then we made the mistake of extending our stay for 2 more nights. There were no rooms in the hotel so they moved us into the resort. Here's the skinny on the resort: 1. Big rooms 2. Airconditioning works well 3. no ramp for infant stroller, i.e. have to climb 40 steps with the storller to get to the room. This part was unbelievable, how can they say this is a family resort when they don't have stroller/pram ramps. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! 5. No hot water between 6:30 am and 10:00 am in the morning and I mean none, had to skip a shower a couple of the mornings. 6. Water coming out of the taps is brown in color, and I don't mean a tinge of brown, I mean DARK BROWN!!!!! 7. Resort is extremely inconvenient if you want to get to the beach, it's a 5-7 minute walk, in summers I can't even imagine doing this carrying the stoller down to the road from the resort room and then walking 5 minutes to the hotel and finally to the pool/beach a total drencher!!! 8. The beach is limited, i.e. only a few spots where you can go in, the rest is a reef. So if going for endless beach, white sand, etc this is NOT the place for you. In conclusion, STAY AWAY FROM THE RESORT, IT SUCKS!!!! The price difference between the two was only $12/Nt. All said the diving in the red sea is unbelieveable, after having done Hawaii and the Florida keys this place is a lot better if you are a diver. Loads of corals and tropcial fish. Stay in the hotel DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF STAYING AT THE RESORT YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
