We loved this hotel. It is not terribly close to town, ( a lot of the nicer bed and breakfasts there are the same- not close to town) and the room and the bathrooms did not seem as large as the pictures. However, the grounds were amazing, the owner did a great job of keeping us lined out with things we wanted to do and the included breakfasts were great. The rooms were very clean. The access to the beach was good. When we were there we wandered the close by beach for 3-4 hours and did not see another soul. We opted for the Magellan as they had an air conditioning option which we needed at night for decent sleeping. We loved Cahuita and the area as we did not want to go to a major resort and not experience the true "area". My wife an I celebrated our 20 year anniversary and it was an amazing experience.
My wife and I spent a lovely weekend here at this hotel. It is small but refined and has a very special ambiance. Alot of thought and taste has been put into every detail. The gardens are beautiful and the amount of birdlife is amazing. The restaurant is excellent and the owners charming with alot of adventerous stories to tell, one being a specialist in poison dart frogs.
I definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Cahuita
