Rooms are spacious but need some TLC
By Opus, 8/20/11
This Hotel is in a convenient location. It’s close to I84, near local restaurants, close to a Mall, and within walking distance of a local Stop & Shop. Although it shares a parking lot with the UPS store and bank located on the bottom of the building, there’s still plenty of parking. The lobby looks nice. The rooms are fairly clean however they are in need of upgrades and renovations. One thing I do like about the suites at this hotel is that they are very spacious. But I’ve stayed here over the years and it is clear that the rooms definitely need some TLC. The carpet, couch, and chairs in the rooms are old and badly stained, the blankets are worn and wallpaper was peeling off the wall in one corner of my room. Some of the rooms surround an open atrium looking over the lobby so they may be noisy at times. Although the hotel has a maintenance staff not everything is getting maintained or upgraded. I encountered some of the exact same issue on this stay as I had on my previous stay. The phone was not working properly in the room, the remote to the t.v. did not work, the computer in the lobby was old and internet was slower than dial up, the printer on the computer did not work, the ice machine was broken on some floors, the workout machines were not working in fitness room. Why own a hotel if you can’t maintain it properly? I'd rate this place 2.5-3 stars. This place might be suitable for a short stay or for a stay where you don’t plan to spend much time in the room. However, I might not recommend it for a longer term stay or for a business traveler that may need to use the room phone or the hotel computer. As for me, until they address some of these issues, I think I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Never again--Avoid MORON Hotel & Suites!!!
By jacqueliner, 5/30/09
When we first pulled into the parking lot I was pleased with the location: a UPS store/copy center, a bar and grill, and two banks in the same building; grocery next door, plus a sushi restaurant across the street. After that I was not impressed. Our first night there, the hotel had two weddings and wedding guests were making noise late into the night. I didn't complain bc there was no way to call the front desk without disturbing my family. The following night (a Sunday) there was another wedding and the guests were loud and obnoxious by 10:30 PM. The worst offenders happened to be staying next door to me and were banging on the adjoining door and trying to turn the knob to get into MY room. I called the front desk to complain. Our neighbors settled down until around midnight. By then they were shouting in the hallways, slamming doors and acting as if they had never stayed in a hotel before. I called eight times in six hours (the loud behaviour was on and off during that time.) The idiot night manager kept telling me there was nothing she could do--she had asked them to be quiet. I pointed out that the hotel makes its guests sign a good conduct policy (so you can be fined/ejected if you disturb other guests.) What's the point of a policy if the hotel won't enforce it? And, by the way, you can always call the police to get rid of unruly guests. ( I couldn't bc my room phone wasn't working!) It got to the point where I had to threaten the night manager--several times. She finally agreed to call the police. I called back a few minutes later to make sure that she followed through this time. A few minutes later the cops showed up and we finally got some sleep. I wound up missing my morning appointment with my biggest corporate client bc my family needed to sleep in. FYI--if something like that happens when you stay at Moron Hotel, do what I did: tell the front desk that you're not paying to be kept up all night. They were supposed to provide me with a quiet, safe place to stay for the night. Since I didn't get that, I made them take the charges off of my bill when I checked out the next morning. We ended up at the Danbury Plaza which was a very nice place to stay.

promotion problems
By David, 12/2/06
Booked online based on the promotion of a $50 gift cert. to Danbury Fair Mall. They didn't honor the promotion and after numerous attempts to reconcile, there were no return calls. Telephone didn't work and wallpaper was falling off in bathroom.

Not Impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/06
I wasn't all that impressed. The rooms are pretty dark and cramped. Overall layout of the hotel is kind of labrynthine. I recommend the Marriott down the street.

Take our advice stay anywhere else. Noisy , dirty , lousy part of town , great if you want to do some food shopping, it is adjacent to a giant supermarket

Not all it's cracked up to be
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/05
I was disappointed with this hotel. Rooms located along the open lobby are not insulated from sound, so I was awakened at 3 a.m. by people talking downstairs, as well as phones ringing at the front desk. They happily moved me to a back room which was quieter until the next a.m. when apparent remodeling efforts began and I listened to a symphony of hammering, drilling, etc. The room was clean and comfortable in both cases, but bathrooms need to be updated, regrouted, and stains removed in the showers. The hair dryer was loose on the wall too. All this added up to sloppy and a bit too low rent. All this for almost $100 a night.

Good Place to Stay For Extended Period - Both for Business Traveller and Families
By wenhsiu, 7/9/05
The service here is excellent, from food and beverage to room cleaning to business services (finding ground transfer, receiving faxes, receiving mail, etc.). Some convenient features of staying here: free wireless internet (seems to be reliably on during the evenings, but sometimes goes down during the day), 'in-house' Connecticut Limo office so one can go directly from the hotel to the airport via Connecticut Limo, groceries/pharmacy is a 200-feet walk away in the form of a Stop-and_Shop next door, and last but not least, an 'in-house' UPS shop resides in the same building. The hotel's restaurant, Vivo, has excellent food at very reasonable prices (compared to other local restaurants), and they don't charge extra for kids (we have three) when one stays in a suite. I stayed here for over two months and never felt the need to move anywhere else.

Maron Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/04
We had a long stay (2 1/2 weeks) at the Maron hotel at the end of October/beginning of Nov 2004. The rooms are comfortable altho' maybe a little tired but the staff more than make up for that. We had a couple of minor maintenance concerns that were taken care of straightaway and any question put to the front desk was dealt with efficiently and with a smile. There is a supermarket next door where you can buy goods to stock up the fridge but the evening meals served in the Vivo bar next door were great and reasonably priced so we ended up eating there most nights, the bar staff again are a credit to the hotel. We weren't looking forward to a long hotel stay but these guys couldn't have made it any better for us.
