By Eric, 6/18/11

should be embarassed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/21/11
I think it is completely wrong and a disgrace to the hotel and owners, when fireman come down each year for fire school at mcdowell And different groups get charged different prices when they have the same amenities. I know from experience this hotel was not worth no 190 a night that they charged some fire depts. They should be ashamed to charge those people who go out everyday n risk saving others lifes a discount, not jack the prices up just because we need somewhere to stay. i ddid not see the hotel as a top of the line place to stay. yes the rooms where clean and the hotel was, but the price was just a disgrace

Fabulous Hotel!!
By cheer mom, 7/7/10
A must stay hotel if you are in the area or traveling through! Above and beyond friendly staff. Our room was very clean and roomy. The bed was to die for! My children enjoyed the large indoor pool and spa. The hotel also has a huge variety of snacks available 24/7(a plus). The breakfast was very good as well. Again a wide variety including fruits, pancakes, biscuits and eggs! A great all around experience!! ***** AAA members 10% discount

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/09
I reserved three rooms and took my children and grandchildren for a "get away." The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The staff were super nice and so were the rooms. The grandchildren enjoyed the pool. Lots of thoughtful touches., i.e. fresh popcorn and other snacks in the evening. Staff prepared brown bags for the kiddies with snacks to take on the road when we left. Our overall experience was the best I have ever had staying at a hotel. We will definitely return.

Multiple repeat visits
The hotel is great. We are about to embark on our third stay there in a year. I really can't understand why it is only rated a 1* Hilton stay but am delighted I can get a rewards stay for 10k pts. The location is great - easy access to the BRP and much cheaper than Asheville. The beds are really cosy, the snack choices are vast - all I really need now is a bar within walking distance.....

Great hotel
By Maurice, 6/17/08
This is the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at. It seems more like a W Hotel than a Hampton. Great staff, great room, great breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.

One of the best Hampton INNs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/08
This hotel is great. The staff are very friendly and make your stay very pleasant. The rooms are spacious including the bathroom. Beds are very comfortable ..just like at home. The snacks provided in the evening are a real plus esp for kids. The breakfast is superb with something for everyone. Besides the wonderful pool and access to a workout area...what more do you need? We just stayed there while visiting the gem mine area with our kids. It was the best!!

A lovely hotel
By Jenn, 6/20/07
This was a great place. The rooms are clean and everything is well kept. Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. Beds were absolutely WONDERFUL! Easy to get a good nights rest here. We ran out of time so we didn't get to utilize the pool but we did gaze at it alot as we ate breakfast in the dining room. The hotel provides a hot breakfast bar. Packages are available in a refridgerator, instead of someone cooking items and placing them on the bar. They look good but the taste leaves something to be desired in the 2 or 3 that we tried. The packages do come in handy if you want to grab a couple and head back up to the room to have a quiet breakfast without the crowds in the dining room. Bagels, Toast and cereal are also available. Our overall experience was great! Can't wait to try other Hampton Inns.
