The Ritz-Carlton Golf Spa Resort Rose Hall Jamaica, Rose Hall

The service at this hotel was impeccable. The hotel is quite charming. The food on the grounds is quite expensive and the location isn't all that great to get to local restaurants, even though there are cabs available to take you there. If you want to stay on the hotel grounds and just relax, this is the perfect place to do so. First time staying in Montego Bay; and this hotel will certainly been where we stay when we visit Montego Bay.

Many of the staff members there had such poor attitudes and were extremely complacent about serving us. Not only was the service bad, the food was mediocre at best and the prices were outrageous. On top of all of this, we came back to erroneous charges of several hundred dollars on our credit card. So if you decide to take a chance and stay at the Ritz, I'd suggest cash transactions only.

Our son got maaried there on 6/7/08 and it was fabulous. Everything went smoothly. Our wedding planner was terrific, patient and experienced. We spent about 2 hours on details and then trusted her expertise. The food, decore,and music was more than I expected. Our 57 quests were "impressed" by the whole experience. Some commented, "the table settings were the most beautiful they have ever seen at a wedding." Others, stated "this was the best food they have eaten at a wedding." I was so proud to be part of this celebration. I recommend this for a destination wedding ...5 star. Negative, restaurtant food service is very slow. Expect a long wait between appetizers and the main meal. Beach is very rockie. We will definitely go back!

We stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights & five days. The views are magnificent. The grounds are well kept and the view of the ocean is really beautiful. If you stay here I recommend an all inclusive package, if not things can be a little bit pricey. Food is $20.00 or more for just a hamburger. If you are on a budget you can feel trapped. A taxi One Way Per Person is 25.00 USD. A few short cuts: every day from 10AM to 6PM there is a free shuttle service to the 'Shoppes at Rose Hall'. There is a cafe/deli there called 'Blue Cafe'... the coffee is great and a deli sandwich is around 7.00 USD. You can then go towards the end to a shop that will sell 20 oz Pepsi products and large bottles of water for $2 or $3 ... keep in mind a 10 oz coke from your room fridge is $4. If you go to get drinks you will need to barter. RED STRIPE beer should not sell from more then $2 USD, so when the sales clerk says $4 a bottle ... offer $2 ($2 USD is still above the local price). Keep in mind RED STRIPE is $5 at the hotel. I got mine for $2 and took many back to my room. At 9 PM there is a free shuttle to 'Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville' in MoBay. $10 cover charge to get it, drinks are affordable and it's worth the experience. If you get hungry walk to BurgerKing across the street before 11PM. We were going to eat at Margaritaville but they stopped serving food at 9PM. Before you book your trip, plan your activities or sign up when you book. Jamaica tours ltd will be the company used to take you out on these activities. We took the 'Mountain Valley Rafting, Liqueur Tasting & Lunch' tour. We booked directly with the tours representive that has a desk at the Hotel and the price was $75.00 per person. If you book directly with Jamaica tours ltd its $47 per person. Sign up for tours before you arrive at the hotel. When you sign up you will get vouchers, take your vouchers to the agents desk and they will make sure you get picked up. You can call them and book directly too, just make sure you ask them the pick up time for the Ritz, sometimes what the website shows is different. We did order room service during our stay. The food was good, $36.00 for Spaghetti. The waiter brought it to our room. He gave me a slip to sign to charge it to my room. He told me to call down and he will come back to get it. I signed the slip with Zero for a tip. I had cash, so I was going to give him 10.00 when he came back to get my tray. We called down when we were done eatting - it took him almost 2 hours to come back to get our tray after we called. I still gave him have the tip ... but I guess if you want good service you better tip upfront. I thought that was a little crummy though. Over all everyone was nice. I suggest bringing several $1.00 bills. I usually tipped $2.00 to the free shuttle drivers after a return trip to The shoppes. $2.00 is a good tip for things the staff does for free anyway. The bell boy that brought our bags up to the room I gave him $10.00. So carry some cash with you. Other then my room service meal the staff was pretty consistant, nice and friendly. The views are beautiful. We will go back and would recommend the Ritz. It was a really nice vacation.

Beautiful rooms, the grounds were very pretty and immaculate just like the room, great service and the food and drinks were great. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend for a relaxing vacation getaway. The White Witch Golf Course was fabulous also.

The hotel/Resort was beyond anything I could have imagined. We stayed in the five floor and the staff catered to our every need. We felt so special because you had to have a secial key to even enter the five floor. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was over-the-top nice. You could never find staff like that in the states. They actually remembered our names and greeted us such. The room had tiled floors and marble in the bathroom. I was so comfortable and I always bring my own sheets on vacations. This time I had no need for my sheets. I loved this hotel so much that my next vacation will depend on where I can find a Ritz. They just built a Ritz in Orlando. The spa was great. I had the best massage of my life. I Love the Ritz Carlton...that is no way you could go wrong. Once we went sightseeing and I saw the other Hotels I was so happy we were staying at th Ritz.

The staff were very friendlyand helpful. The hotel was beautiful and located close to the airport so not much travel time to and from airport. The only thing I could say that could be better was the beach. A few feet into the water on the beach was very rocky. Wear water shoes b/c it can be pretty painful. Otherwise exceptional place to stay. Will stay again!

What i like is that it i in a right near the beachside so all pools and swimming areas are clean and possibly natural. the staff are always smiling and from what i've heard the food is great. tha site in really a great advertising medium and really protrays great ideal entertainment and play areas for all members of the family. the natural areas look really relaxing for my mom who doesn't really love the sun.

Went for my sisters wedding in July of last year and I didn't want to leave! This hotel was great from the rooms to the service to the attitude of the place. What a great way to spend a wedding trip and then turn around and stay another week, just because the place was so great relaxing.. Would definatly recommend to anyone to stay here! As a matter of fact am on my way back in 1 week for 2 weeks of relaxation!

Hate the Decor in the hotel rooms! This place is great for single travelers travelling alone ... but there is just as much to do for those with families.
