Our Easton Getaway
By vanita hughes, 7/29/08
Your staff was professional, friendly and accommodating Your Hotel is decorated so beautifully it just relaxes you once you enter the door The Restaurant food is delicious with huge portions Everything was very clean from top to bottom Saturday July 26, 2008 is a day that 13 beautiful sisters will not soon forget. I want to share with everyone the fun we had. I must admit that we had all the ingredients for a great time. Sharon and I arrived at the hotel around 3:08. We went to the front desk to drop off the bling bags and check in. The VIP treatment started there. I dropped 12 "bling bags" at the front desk with instructions to the hotel staff that when the special young ladies arrived they were to be given their room card as well as the greeting "Here is your bling bag" and then hand the ladies their bag. The bags were metallic with scented soaps and lotions personally picked out by myself. In order to access the "Club" floor you entered the elevator and then had to swipe your room card in the designated elevator slot. We were just blown away by the opulence of The Hilton. Our suites were huge and plush. We were given special rooms with an "Easton view". Everyone was hungry so we headed down to the Hilton restaurant. The Dining Room Manager was Nathan Smith. He arranged for all of us to sit together. Besides repeated calls to the Hotel staff to ensure my beautiful friends had a memorable night I also met with Nathan and his dining room staff to ensure there would be little to no confusion in accommodating our needs. Hilton did not disappoint. After orders were taken, the staff volunteered to take pictures of us for memories sake. This included Nathan the Manager himself. I introduced myself to the Chef and received his assurances that the food would be fabulous. It was. I had the Gulf Shrimp which was served with these delicious pineapple fries. The servings were huge, almost all of us had to get to-go boxes. We virtually had the entire restaurant at our beck and call, as well as all to ourselves. As we concluded the feast the beautiful waitresses Melissa and Tara brought out champagne. As the movie stars, oops I mean ladies left the dining room we went to the main suite to prepare for messages. Since the suite was two rooms, the second room was selected for privacy. Between the relaxing music, massage table, and candles it was relaxing just being there. I can say first hand that Ashley's hands took away many stresses and relaxed everyone she touched. I will also note that Ashley who was considerably younger than all of us, was reluctant to leave. I am telling you the mood was contagious. We laughed, talked and got to know one another. As many were getting massages, some of us went down to the pool area and got in the hot tub and pool. Oh yes, how could I forget! On the way to our rooms the Concierge stopped us and told us that Jonda and I were chosen as "Guests of the Day". They brought fruit up to our room as well as coupons, complimentary spa treatments and discounts. I couldn't have written this evening any better. The beautiful thing about being on the Club level is you had access to the Concierge Lounge. We were too stuffed from dinner to eat the appetizers but some of us managed to kill a few cookies here and there (these Sisters will remain anonymous). I have to give the Hilton their props. Our wish was their demand. We needed extra sheets for the massages. They brought them. We needed more towels they brought them. Ashley at the front desk was so caring we gave her a bling bag of her own. She loved it. . Sunday morning we woke up and took advantage of the free breakfast and coffee in the Concierge lounge.

Horrible Guest Service!
By Rebecca Leigh, 3/6/07
I stayed here while working at the Arnold Fitness Expo in Columbus. The hotel itself is gorgeous, beautiful lobby, cafe, lounge, room, etc, but as far as how they treat their guests was a huge dissapoinment. Everything, and I mean everything, that was related to how they responded to their guests was unnacceptable. When I arrived at the hotel, a package that I had previously arranged to be mailed to the hotel was waiting for me at the front desk. I asked to take it up to my room with me while I was checking in, but they insisted to just send it up to my room via service... IT NEVER CAME. I called down about 2 hours later and they (very unconcerned) said they would find out where it was and have it sent up. When it did arrive the man seemed irratated that he had to come to the third floor to drop off a package. It just went downhill from there - No parking at all - had to walk very far after working at the expo and standing on my feet all day in the cold snow, Asked to be brought up dinner plates for a carry out meal I had, the plates never came, Asked for toothpaste, took about 45 minutes to come. NO SILVERWARE at the cafe. If you are eatting a fruit bowl, prepare to use your hands. NO smiles at the front desk - bad attitudes. It was a horrible experience. Luckily, it was a free stay for me, since it was paid for by the company that I was working for at the expo, but if I HAD paid that much to stay in that hotel, I would have been even more upset. I have stayed at way cheaper hotels than this - hampton inns, holiday inns, etc and had such a better experience. I travel for a living and this is the first time I have ever complained about a hotel. It was THAT bad. Save your money. The soft sheets just dont make up for the terrible service.

A Valentines Weekend Nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/07
Based on my most recent experience I am afraid the Hilton is not what a 4 star hotel should claim to be like. While I have stayed in 4 star hotels before I must say that I have had far better service and accommodations at 3 - 3.5 hotel chains. Our special romantic weekend was doomed from the beginning and it never seemed to get any better. It was so dismal I cried! First, let me say that the hotel was completely booked that night and this was likely due to a wedding and Valentines Day weekend. Parking was limited and valet service was not even available. Not very impressive especially given that it was a very cold, windy and snowy evening with several inches of snow, slush and ice already on the ground. I was supposed to be able to use the easy check-in kiosk for quick registration, however, due to room availability issues I had to stand in line at the desk with numerous other arriving guests. My quick 30 second check-in was more like 20 minutes or more. So much for the benefits of being a Hilton Honors member! When I booked the romance package I opted for the room to be picked at check in and admittedly that was a huge mistake. Given this hotel's reputation I felt that it was a pretty safe risk but clearly it was not. At booking I was told that there was no guarantee for my preference of a nonsmoking room. I was willing to upgrade for such a guarantee but was not able to do this through the web site. As it turned out we were only offered a non smoking room which was designated for persons with disabilities. My boyfriend has severe allergies and asthma and we had no other choice but to take this room. I did note this as an issue on my reservation "special instructions" but obviously it was of no concern or interest to the clerk assigning the rooms. The room was definitely nothing special and far from romantic - a glorified hospital room comes to my mind as a description - It was clean but somewhat sparse looking. I suspect furniture was moved to allow for more room for handicapped guests. The walls were paper thin and made listening to other quests quite easy. Around 1:00 am we could hear the loud, chatty and clearly drunk guests next door as if they were in our room. The bathroom was the most disappointing of all!!!!It was accommodated for individuals with physical disabilities complete with roll in shower, shower chair and grab bars. It was unattractive, cold and very institutional like. After 2 showers it was a complete mess with water going everywhere and soaking the floor and rug. It definitely did not have a pampering feel and the only tasteful indulgence was the basket of Crabtree and Evelyn mini soaps and lotions. I would also note that I have worked with people with disabilities for several years and the set up would be completely unsafe and unacceptable for a person in a chair. The romance package came with a room service breakfast which sadly was also inferior. We were told that it would be delivered in 30 minutes but it was actually more like 50 - 60 minutes. It arrived lukewarm with toast uncovered and cold. The potatoes were hard and inconsistently cooked. My boyfriend ordered ham and was given bacon instead. The coffee was the best part of the meal. Despite all of the previously mentioned things my Hilton stay had some positives. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Definite 4 star quality!!! We also enjoyed relaxing in the pub, as well as, the complimentary champagne that came with the romance package. The bed was comfortable roomy and had plenty of pillows. We were given a late checkout of 2 and certainly appreciated that accommodation. Lastly, the bellman - an older gentleman - who initially greeted us and assisted with our luggage was friendly and very helpful.

Only For The Sophisticated!
By ReneeB, 10/3/05
If you don't want to be treated like you're a star, than this is not the hotel for you. Imagine if you were a star, and people were waiting on you "hand-n-foot," constantly smiling at you! That was my experience! I stayed in a junior-suite and it was worth every bit of the money. I especially enjoyed not having to drive from mall-to-mall or trying to find a restaurant to eat at because it was all in close proximity.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/05
What i likedd about this hotel is that the service is awesome! Everyother place my family went to was ok but not as good as this place. The food was good and the rooms were the size that we needed. My kids had so much to do there also. I cant wait to come back next year! Good job workers!! GREAT SERVICE!!

I was there for a convention and we recieved great service not to mention with all the craziness of the days to come that at the end of them I knew that I had a great room to come to with comfortable beds. Just like a home away from home. Hilton!

Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/05
The hotel is located within walking distance to Eastons shops. If you're not up to going out for dinner. The hotels restaurant has an impressive menu. I was on a business trip. They have a gym and a pool that was clean and well kept.

Hilton.. the name is well deserved here..
By Dtf, 9/26/05
We always make a point to stay at the Hilton chain when we travel. The Columbus Ohio location is prime for the strip, dining, attractions and the service is probably the best in the industry.
