Days Inn Hotel New York City - Broadway, New York

This hotel is horrendous. We had a confirmed reservation for a double room for three people. When we checked in the hotel was "sold out" and all they had for us was a "room" with two twin beds. I put room in quotes because it was more like a closet - small even for NYC. The room was moldy, dirty and everything was broken. Please, please, please do not stay at this hotel!!! SHAME ON YOU DAYS INN!!! This hotel gives other Days Inns whose management and ownership cares about quality a bad name!

A tired, dirty hotel that doesn't appear to have been touched since the early 1970s. Staff are friendly enough, but the room was grubby, tiles cracked, grout grubby, bathroom fittings ancient. The single window overlooked a miserable lightwell. Lights were dim. Carpets worn. A general atmosphere of neglect. Ultimately very depressing indeed. The sort of place where penniless poets go to die.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First we were put into a room with one bed having paid for a room with two queen beds. This was sorted out which only meant we had to stay in the place. The room was badly in need of refurbidshment with worn carpets, cables hanging from the ceiling, air conditioner smashed, hair drier not working (and not fixed despite several requests and promises of a repair), safe key missing and a few of just bricks outside the single window in the two bedroom suite. The door to the room did not even fit the frame so we could see into the corridor as well. A refridgerator was available on the floor just inside the door! Fortuanatly the bathroom had been refurbished and the bedding seemed new - the maids had done the best they could with the rooms and that was the only up side to this dump of a place. The surrounding area is a good location, plenty of great restauants/diners and a block form the entrance to 96th St subway stop.

Days Inn was a great place to stay! The location was wonderful, located on the Upper West Side and close to convenient subways. The restaurants in the neighborhood were also fun and easy to get to. The workers at the front desk were helpful and gave great suggestions to where we could go. We went to a jazz club our first night and ate at a great diner our last day. Although the hotel is not new...it was surely comfortable and not too expensive for New York City. I am looking forward to returning.

Wifi is only available in lobby. This is not clear on the Days Inn website. I was on the 10th floor so this was very inconvenient. During our 4 night stay, I was only able to connect with internet on a couple occasions. Don't plan having an accessible or reliable Wifi connection at the Days Inn hotel on 94th. Very disappointing. Otherwise, the hotel met or exceeded expectations.

If you would like to see NYC without any troubles and spend a little money, you should choose this hotel. It is rather old and dirty, but you are on Upper West Side, with the Subway st. and Cental park and Hudson river in few steps. And all this staff for just a little more than 100 $ per night! It is very simple to go 2 min to subway and after 5-7 min you are on Times Sq, or 15 min - Battery park. A lot of cafe and rest near by. Nice family sushi bar is just few steps from lobby. So, you won't be dissapointed. :)

We went there at the end of April. It was in a good location, and clean. If your a snob who is expecting a 5 star hotel go elsewhere. But if your looking for a nice place to stay to see the sights of NYC this is an inexpensive place to stay. The only bad thing about it was the very small elevators, but hey your only in them for a minute or so.

I loved the location, convenience to delis, subway. Did not like the rude staff, broken elevators (two of them) and the general bad management of the place

when we showed up we were told that our reservation was only or one person and that we would be charged an extra $25. I explained that this was over the GROUP rate which had been negotiated for our stay. I was told that "you can discuss that with the Group Sales Manager (not sure if that was the exact title)on Monday when he comes into work. I am a business traveler who does about 50 - 100 nights a year. I have NEVER been in a hotel where the elevator looks like someone had tried to scratch thier way out and the light was a long bulb plugged into a socket. When we arrived at our floor we could hardly breath the smell of CURRY was so overpowering. We went to the front dest to advise and we were told that it was not possible as there was cooking methods in the rooms (which we found out later that people actually lived in the hotel full time). The room was COMPLETELY unacceptable. The internet did not work (we were rudely told it was and there were three wireless connection nodes which later we were told "oh yes it is not working") The toilet continuously ran, the radiator hissed and made clunking noises, the tub had black stains, the toilet paper roll holder was broken, the room floor was slanted (YES ITS TRUE WE HAVE PICTURES) the bed sagged in the middle and your feet were higher than your head because of the slant, the carpet was nasty and the bath towels were so thin and small they were ineffective. I tried calling the Hotel, spoke with Mr. B. W. , said I had a concern and should I handle with him or his corporate headquarters and was told " Send a letter to our General Manager - W. S." I asked if he even wanted to hear the issue and he told me he had done a favor for our family and only two rooms were used (also not true)and that I should send the letter to Mr. S. I said I was not going to send a letter to Mr. S. and would handle it another way to which he replied " WHATEVER ". I have two other witnesses to confirm everything about the hotel and room, only my word against Mr. W. if he denies the rudeness. This stay was COMPLETELY unacceptable and the NEGATIVE experience will affect me for all the Wyndham locations. I am waiting till I see how this will be handled before I, any of my family, or my employees will be allowed to stay at a Wyndham property.

We arrived 1 in morning from LA via Australia with 2 15yo boys.We had been travelling and waiting in airports for nearly 24hrs so we were exhausted, he place was open,but there was no -one to greet us and very scary.We slept with the suit cases against the door the first night. The room was clean, so were the sheets, the hot water worked some times and the tiolet blocked up. I rang reception and they told me to come an get a plunger to unblock it myself, l did. The staff were very unfriendly and un accomodating about anything. The only employee that was friendly was the nice negro door man, he asked questions about our country and he told us stories of his a lovely man. The only good think about this hotel was it had a laundry room, but was very isolated and a bit scary on your own.A good location but would not recommed this at all. We are travelling to New York again in Sept 2009 and will stay at another hotel.
