Motel 6 Decatur, Decatur

Well on the Motel 6 website it said it have been "refreshed", this hotel looks a hundred years old, its falling apart in the hallways, smells of gas in lobby. Not to mention the poorly lit parking lot, with lots of...."pedestrians" walking around. We were so afraid of our vehicle getting broken into, due to the location pretty far from the main road. There were holes in the wall of our room, red stains all on the carpet and ciggerette burns in our blanket and we had a non-smoke room. There is one entrance which is through the lobby, which was pretty inconvienant. Also, there are cameras but everytime I came in and out (often) the clerk was on his phone not even close to the camera monitors. My recommendation, go spend your $50+ somewhere else!!!

The check in clerk was friendly, but there were signs posted everywhere that they were under construction and that everything was closed: pool, gym, doors, etc. The floor had odor, the room was so-so, and we had a visitor at 1:00am...not someone we knew! The front counter said it was a lost guest, but there were only four other people in the hotel.

The hotel is a lot better now. The hotel is being operated by a new management staff and the clerk at the front desk (that works from 3-11 )is very professional.
