ASK TO SEE A THE ROOM FIRST!
Ask to see a room before you pay and then you will not waste your money. They do not refund!
Read below for pros and cons. My only advice it to make sure you look at it first because the outside is nice then the inside. The photos look much nicer than the actual place.
This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in before. We have stayed at extended stay hotels before and we've stayed at Motel 6, Super 8, Days Inn before so we aren't the type of people that usually stay in the Hilton or Marriott regularly.
Several reviews said dark and dingy. This is true. We checked in and when I went to the room (which was suppose to be a non-smoking room, but it wasn't) I felt my skin crawl. It looked like the type of place people live at because they don't have steady enough incomes or lifestyles to rent. My husband called to the front desk and said we were not satisfied with the quality of the room and asked if we checked out could we get our money back. We were told that the manager wouldn't be back until Monday and we would have to talk to him about that. We had already paid for the weekend and we were leaving Sunday. I didn't want to loose our money so we decided to tough it out. I had my husband drive me to the store so I could buy Lysol and disinfectant wipes. I came back and cleaned and wiped down everything.
PROS
1.) The sheets appeared clean but the blankets and comforter were worn out.
2.) Seemed quiet and it seemed to be in a fairly good part of town though there were several questionable looking people about.
3.) Wireless internet was decent.
4.) Cable worked though the remote was dirty and had to be cleaned.
CONS
1.) Window ac unit kept going out and every time you tried to adjust it the front would fall off. The vents were also broke so after I cleaned it we had to put paper in-between them to hold them open. The thermostat was messed up so you kept either getting too cold or hot because it constantly had to be manually adjusted.
2.) Over all condition was poor. The only thing that looked clean and new as the coffee maker. The walls were yellowed (apparently was smoking room at one time). I wiped down all contact surfaces in our room, kitchenette, and bathroom. The wipes were yellow and sometimes brown from dirt. The kitchen was a bit cleaner (thankfully). Remote, chair arms, handles, phone, and a/c were visibly very dirty.
3.) Lighting was so dim it hurt my eyes. The lamp on the wall was crooked and loose. The over head light was fine but it was very dim.
4.) Bathroom toilet and sink were clean, but shower, door, mirror, and floor were not and had to be wiped down. Small curly hairs were found in the shower and on floor. Towels and washcloths had a few dark and curly hairs on them so we didn't use them.
5.) The elevator was scary and VERY dirty. It has wet, sticky, runny stuff on the walls...and it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time...and it smelled bad.
6.) Bed was uncomfortable and a very cheap mattress. The pillows were thin and though the sheets appeared clean the comforter and blanket were very worn. I made my husband take them off the bed and we didn't use them.
7.) Carpet in bedroom was dingy looking (from what I could see). We didn't but luggage on floor. And husband and I tried to wear socks at all times.
8.) Phone was very dirty with stuff stuck to it and dirt on the handset. I cleaned it and noticed the wires were showing ...almost broke and worn out.
9.) Hotel staff were not very friendly or helpful. They appeared to hate their job and it showed.
10.) The room smelled musty and there wasn’t a no smoking sign on the door like on other doors.
OH, AND MY HUSBAND HAD TO HAVE THEM REPAIR THE DOOR...THE PEEP HOLE WAS MISSING. THERE WAS JUST AN OPEN HOLE IN THE DOOR WHEN WE GOT THERE!
Do NOT make the same mistake we did...LOOK AT THE ROOM FIRST!
Have a great vacation!
