Although the hotel needs major updating, our stay was somewhat ok with the exception of our breakfast. It was the usual hotel food but I must say the service we received from the older woman with the short dark hair (Mary) made us feel as if we were home. My husband and I travel quite frequently and it was so pleasant and relaxful to have a waitress actually care about our needs at breakfast, as my husband has medical problems and can only eat certain foods. Unfortunately, housekeeping and front desk can use some customer service training. Our room smelled stale and upon checkin we found a dirty towel in the shower. We reported this to the front desk and all they did was hand us a clean towel. Upon checkout, I must say that the heavy set man behind the desk was very pleasant.

The pool was not treated properly. Water was cloudy. The cleaning staff did not come to clean the room until 4 p.m. in the afternoon. Didn't have any washcloths. I had even asked the front desk earlier in the day and was told they did not have any that they were on the carts already. Hotel needs to be updated. Coffee and Hot water were not availabe during the afternoon. It costs $13 to have the buffet. Stay at a hotel that has a free continental breakfast.

Not a good value for the money

Clean room, good location, however you can get the same thing for considerably less. Also there's one thing that really bothered me. Both Marriott's official web site and the person taking my reservation spoke about the "steaming hot breakfast." I was led to believe (perhaps I'm a bit naive) that the breakfast was included in the above average price of the room. It's NOT, can you say "nickled and dimed?" What major chain of hotels charges extra for a breakfast? I stayed at the Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn (both within a couple of miles of the Courtyard) and they both came with a breakfast you didn't have to pay extra for. It's a minor thing, but it will keep me from staying there again - I'll gladly pay less at the Hampton AND get my breakfast included.

My only complaint was staff was not very helpful in giving directions to other areas of the Grand Strand and pool area was not clean.

Nice Hotel, Great Staff

The Location Of The Hotel Was Great. I Could Just About Walk To Everything. The Rooms Are Pretty Much Average. I Truly Believe That Breakfast Should Be Free. Other Than That... COURTYARD MARRIOTT WAS INCREDIBLE !!! Keep Up The Great Work. Your Staff Was Some Of The Best I've Ever Met !!! I SHALL RETURN !!! (SMILE)

Great time!

This hotel provided all the needed necessities for our trip. The breakfast buffet was great including the times it was available. The staff was warm and friendly. The room was average, however kept extremely clean. The tv remote didn't work great, but who has time for tv in Myrtle Beach anyway? The location was everything! Located to major attractions and central to everything. Well priced in our golf package... Looking forward to going back!!
