Spoil your kids at least once!
By Stm McQueen, 1/13/08
We went to the Nick hotel as a special treat to our 7 year old son since he recently became a big brother. The rooms were nicely laid out and decorated. The walk to the room was quite exhausting with all the gear of a family of four. The room service was slow and we kept having to call to remind them. The asking price for the rooms is outrageous! But I would recommend a through internet search of the best prices and then try to talk them down - it can be done. We got a two bedroom suite for $130 a night. We had a blast! There was plenty of activities that it was not necessary to leave the premises. The New Year's Day buffet was out of this world and worth the money. All in all it was worth it. The kids are only little for a brief moment and worth remembering every bit of it.

My kids and even Adults want to get together to go back again.
By TARA, 12/8/07
I could not get the kids to leave! The hotel was neat, clean, and great customer service. The slime show was the best. The advertisements and the nick website was understated. There are so many activities for the kids as well as the adults. It is very expensive, but well worth the money. My son had a birthday party in October and all the kids in our family still keep this hotel as a hot topic. Gotta visit when you come to Orlando!!!

I thought I would pass out walking to our room.
By g g, 11/26/07
The day we arrived, the temp was 111 in the shade. The line for check in was long and tiresome after a 19 hour Amtrak ride from DC. Kids were running around the check in like crazy;ok its a kids resort, but parents , you have to do better than that. The walk from the check in area to our actual room was long and hot. I walk with a cane and it is not ideal for someone with a handicap or the inability to walk a lot. My curtains in the Master bedroom did not close together, so I was giving a show everyday. The food is overpriced, the breakfast does not give a great selection and it needs to have more of a selection of eateries. McDonalds might be good. They need to have benches along the walk areas for guests such as myself with the limitation of mobility. It is quite exhausting in the heat. Overall the hotel was nice, needs the above improvements. Might stay again, but need to be closer to my room than down on the other end. Oh, and the bathrooms are quite small.

Heaters Broken & Mold In Our Room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
So as I sit here in our hotel, room 243, just before it is check out time, I felt the need to make other potential customers aware of how inconsiderate this property is. We spent 6 days and 5 nights is the overrated & overpriced holiday inn with a smaller than advertised water park. Unlike other who had issues with the check in process, ours was seemless. In and out in just under 20 minutes. Only glitch was we requested a Sponge Bob room & everyone said it would be no problem, but the check in agent wanted to charge an additional $20 per night. They do provide a free gift when you check in, a small prepackaged candy, for your child. It seems well intended, until they give you their sales pitch to go give up a morning to check out there new preperty, a time share they want you to buy. My biggest issue with this property is that the water park, wasn't much of a water park. Infact it was 1 zero entry pool with a bunch of toys that didn't work and a 6 water slides. With being here in November, the weather here in Orlando can change from day to day and the sun goes down by 5:30. Well on Friday when we checked in the pool heater wasn't working. The water at the zero degree entry pool was pretty cold & to make matters worse, the water slides were so cold that even I as an adult had blue lips after going down the slide one time. Kids were Shivering at the cold temp. I spoke to someone about the problem and was told on of the heater was broken and they were fixing it. Saturday, same problem. Sunday again it happened. I spoke to a manager, Danny, and first he tried to tell me that nothing was wrong and after 20 minutes and the mounting evidence he admitted they were some issues. I than spoke to his supervisor days later and he too said nothing was wrong at the pool. A few minutes into our conversation, he said there was only a problem on Friday and after that there were no further issues. To make a long story short, my 4 year old son, wouldn't get into the pool. The poolside entertainment was funny, but the "slime" was just pool water and some green foodcoloring. We had Mold in our room and in our shower, the safe didn't work and to make matters worse the food court cost was extravagant. 3 6 inch subway meal deals was over $27.00. So we tried to food court also, 1 smuckers PB&J, Milk & Small bag of cheeseits $8.00. We never tried the transpertation because it ended 20 minutes after the park closed and you would be stranded or forced to take a cab if you missed it. Bottom line, I could have saved money by staying at a different property. My advice is do your research and don't be fooled by the website and the sales pitch from the reservations department.

1 star rooms for a high price
poor food choices and way overpriced, the character buffet is a joke, 1 character showed up and the food was cold, the rooms were dirty and the beds had sheets that were not there or did not fit, the bus transport to the activities was so dirty that they should have offered a refund.

This hotel is not worth the money. My advice would be to go to disney world and stay there, and you will spend less money and be better off.

not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/07
My husband and our 2 kids just got back from a weekend from this hotel. We had a couple of problems here and there with our room and so forth. This place costs over $250.00 a night...and we are florida residents!!!! You would think for that kind of money everything would be perfect. My point is think long and hard before spending that kind of money on this hotel. If you have been here before and loved it, that is great. I don't know if it was our bad experience or if the place is just not that good in the first place. I would like to try this place again in a few years but spending ALL that money to be let down again, that is going to take some real thinking. My point is our next vacation will be at Disney where you know you will be taken care of and it costs the same or even less. And whoever said that they have a free HOT breakfast, they are wrong, it is a nice Hot breakfast buffet but it is not free....nothing is free.
