WOW WHAT A MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Tracy, 7/6/10
The place is kid oriented, but not what you would expect for the money you pay. the kids rooms are awful. The smell of mildew very strongly, and the bunk beds are hard as rock. My kids slept on the pull out. My husband broke his toe on the water slide and we were sent to the hospital. We lost a whole day of fun and the kids are sad, but the hotel did nothing. Food is way over priced and everything you want to do has to be reserved. A HUGE DISAPOINTMENY all around. Next time we will stay at Disney where we know that they have clean comfortable rooms.

Had a great time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/10
Maybe I was just thrilled to get out of 20 degree temps, but staying at the Nick Family Suites was a great choice. Strengths: our suite was clean, the food was excellent, the pools nice and warm, also clean. The character breakfast (which we did two out of the 6 days) was so much fun for the kids! A little pricey at $19.95 for adults and I think $12.95 for kids 4 and up, but the food was great. The Nick characters come around to the tables to pose for pictures with the guests. There are a few different food choices in the mall area, including Subway, UNO's pizza, and a coffee stand. Weaknesses: The hotel charged my card twice for the room, but quickly took care of the matter and were apologetic. The laundry area was a little unsafe, as water (small amounts) backed up from the drains, (which were in the middle of the room) when the washers were running. Overall, we had a positive experience and would recommend this hotel to other families.

Nick hotel.Just like butlins-but not as good.
By Daz, 2/25/10
The hotel was a little tired to be honest,in bad need of redecorating.First day,our safe didnt work.A new one was refitted later that day.But the new one was refitted in the wardrobe on a flimsy wire shelf, which was barely up to the weight of a pair of socks never mind a safe.Secured to the plaster board with two 1inch screws,it immediately broke loose and nearly fell on me.I lifted it on to the floor and left it there.I did try to report it but the phone operator and the reception desk were uninterested. There was no iron in the room,we asked for one,we got one with a dented footplate, the notches were so sharp they were tearing fabric. So we gave up and went with the creased look.If youve ever stayed in butlins the apartments are almost identical in layout with a private bedroom for parents and bunks for kids-no door on the kids room. The room was shabby and tired.Several mornings there was no hot water for showers/baths.There is no cutlery/crockery or cooker in the rooms,so dont be under the impression that the kitchenette means you can do self catering. You cant. And no kettle, just a coffee maker. The water park is good, though we only used the pool as the water on the splash area and slides is not heated and was freezing.Pool hygiene is questionable also,my little boy was sick in the pool.i told the lifeguard-who did nothing-yuk.We also had to make a sharp exit on another day when we encountered a large floating mass of someone elses vomit-this time i decided to make a hasty exit and not return to the hotel pool. There is no service lift,so the lifts are super slow mornings and afternoons since the cleaners use them for moving towel trolleys-lots of trolleys. The stairs are way quicker even from the 6th floor. The only time you see a character apart from a 3pm appearance in the lobby by spongebob is if you pay $66 for a character breakfast-so youd be better waiting til you get to disney to get your autographs! The first week of our 2week stay was out of season so we got the character breakfast free-not enough clients to justify 2 restaurants.Food wasnt bad, lots of fresh fruit. The second week was 'spring break'and was busy,we were kicked into cheap street, the buffet restaurant had no fresh fruit. So make sure if you want anything healthy you visit wal mart(about 2mins drive). To sum up,if you like butlins and sunshine youll like this place, but its not as good butlins and its shabby-and if someone pukes in the pool at butlins they close it and clean it!.Also if you go in high season the walls are thin and the music loud, upstairs toilet was above our bedroom, not what you want to hear on a morning. Also the pool is not very big, youll struggle to find space in summer.I sound pretty negative, but we had a good holiday-but we only used the hotel as somewhere to sleep. And one last thought dont use the pizza restaurant in the hotel, use Flippers, they deliver to the lobby, you can go and meet them-they re proper pizzas-fresh and cheaper.

WILL NEVER GO BACK!
By mel, 8/29/09
We decided to go to Nick Hotel because of kid/family friendly hotel pics, however after staying in the hotel we were very disappointed. None of the staff were friendly. As soon as we walked into the room the smell of mildew was overpowering. One morning we saw a waterbug run across the livingroom. Another morning there was no hot water so I had to finish my shower with cold water. Pool is absolutely disgusting, i don't think that they clean out the pool with clorine. They have 2 pool areas and the week we were there only one pool area was open to the hotel guest. The water park looks bigger and better in the pictures only. Also, the dishes that are available in the rooms for use are not sanatized so if you want to cook bring your own plates. Food is overpriced and they charge you for everything. My kids were looking forward to being slimed. THe only way for them to get slimed is if you pay $25 per kid or be one of the winning contestants on there game show. Which by the way if you don't have a reservation from the day before you have to wait on a standby line. For such a big hotel the Nick Studio is small and accomodates about 100 people. The daily show is the same everynight. I have seen better live show entertainment on the NY subways. If i would have read the reviews before going on my trip I would have much rather gone to another hotel and paid to go to the water parks. Thank god for Universal Studios, thats where we got to enjoy our vacation. Everyone who rated this hotel Execellent must be either out of their minds or a Nick Staff member.

The Best Day ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/09
We are Florida residents and had a great rate and perks for the kids. Check in was smooth and we got everything we requested. Request the first floor if you have small kids. We were in building 7, first floor, right next to the pool, and we did not have any trouble with outside noise at all. My kids enjoyed their room but the bunk beds were unsleepable for my kids and just too hard. They slept on the pull out sofa. The room was nice a clean. My kids enjoyed the pool and slides. The main saltwater pool was very nice and great for small kids because of the shallow walk in entry and even better for big kids because of the fun slides and slime. And we rented a poolside cabana for one day and it was well worth it with an infant. We didn't eat at the restaraunts but was happy to see a Subway there! The characters were great. It was worth our time and money and we will be back.

We will not go back!
By chaisity, 7/15/09
We liked the fact that the hotel was themed around kids and they enjoyed the water slide and the slime. However we feel it was a huge rip off. The food was over-priced and bland. All activities required reservations, which required standing in long lines of only one employee. Room service required a 25% gratuity and closed at 10:00 pm. Not an adult friendly atmosphere ( we are on vacation too).Would NOT recommend.

Find Another Hotel!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/09
Way overpriced on everything. The buffet breakfast was terrible. There aren't enough elevators, so you have to wait forever to get on one or use the stairs which is really bad after hours of walking around a theme park. You can't move for all the people in the pools. Forgot some things in my room at check out. I called 45 minutes after leaving, and was patched through to security (AKA answering machine). Treid to call back several times, and couldn't get anyone on the phone. They finally called me back 29 hours later and told me my stuff wasn't there and was probably thrown away (about $150 - $200 worth). Called to talk to the desk manager, and he acted like he really didn't care. This was my sixth trip to Orlando, and by far the worst hotel experience. I would highly recomend finding a different place.
