Beautiful view. Great package deal with six flags. Great location. Only dislike was minor items were kinda pricey...ie Snickers candy bar was $3.00. Other than that this is an ideal getaway.

The location, grounds, views, service, common areas, event, rec & spa facilities are all divine. However, the rooms make you feel as if you just left paradise, and stepped into a motor lodge. While the overpriced restaurants, ($21 for pasta w/ marinara), make you wish you hadn't been lazy and left the hotel for your meal.

The hotel and staff are awesome. There is no comparison to any hotel in San Antonio - from the greeting by the front door from the valet staff to the check in area everyone was nothing but friendly and professional. The rooms are nice and spacious and ours had a balcony overlooking the pool and part of the golf course. Many pools to choose from, some kid friendly and some just for adults. Close and convenient to all the great San Antonio sites - my daughter now expects nothing less than "The Westin" experience.

My wife and I were on a tight budget so we decided to hop in the car and make the 5 hour drive from Dallas to San Antonio for a weekend getaway. We spent 1 night at a hotel on the Riverwalk and 2 nights at the Westin La Cantera Resort. Looking back, we wish we had spent the entire trip at the Westin. The resort is beautifully situated just outside the city of San Antonio near Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The drive up appeal is breathtaking. Instantly, I was impressed because I was able to park my car in front of the main entrance and the valet attendant was more than accomodating. After we checked in, I drove my car to a large lot where a shuttle was waiting to bring me back to the main entrance. Thus, we avoided the valet expense altogether (nice not to be forced into valet). To our dismay, we had been double booked and there was a nice family staring at us when we walked into "our" room. No problem though, the La Cantera staff more than made up for the mistake by upgrading us to the Royal Hacienda Club room level. This gave us complimentary access to hors d'oeuvres and cocktails in the afternoon as well as a fresh continental breakfast in the morning. The room was beautiful with infinite views of the hill country and equipped with the infamous "Heavenly Bed" providing the perfect excuse to sleep in. Fortunately, however, we decided to get up early and play golf at the Resort Course which was first class as well. After our round of golf, we hit the workout room which is the equivalent of a fully equipped health club with the best cardio equipment we have ever used. For those interested in lifting weights, there is a seperate room equipped with a full set of dumbells, cables and several machines as well. Following our workout, we decided to take a dip in the pool where it was difficult to choose which pool because they have at least 4. We opted for the secluded pool/spa area for adults only. We enjoyed a margarita delivered by one of several pool attendants and it was delicious. For dinner, rather than eating at one of several appealing restaurants at the Resort, we drove just a short distance to a fun shopping/eating area where we spent the evening. This provided an added convenience, but I must say we very much looked forward to returning to our "resort life" back at La Cantera. I highly recommend that you give it a try as well. We can't wait to go back.

was so nice to be waited on hand and foot. 5 pools, 4 resturants, 2 gift shops, tennis, work out room, full spa, pga golf course! people waiting on you eveery where and any thing you need. expensive but 5 stars, get what you pay for! me and my family loved it and would love to go back again! close to sea world, and 6 flags and about 15 minutes from river walk.

this hotel is a class act, you do have to be very careful on the drive up to the entrance, as it is rather hidden drive. but once to the top its lovely view and scapes of the golf course are like a secret little hideaway. the hotel gym is filled with latest equipment, and the spa is excellent. beds, are so very comfortable. service is excellent and staff very friendly. cigar bar off main bar is a little smoky- but that aside was an absolute delight to stay there. a definite place to stay whenever you visit san antonio- close to fiesta texas.

The staff and service are bar none top of the line, they alone can make me want to stay here over and over. Add to that the great beds and comfortable rooms, the fantastic grounds which include a great pool and golf course, and several dining options you just can't go wrong at the Westin La Cantera. I will be back!

My fiance and I are getting married in November of 2005. When we visited with the hotel, it was absolutely amazing, everyone was extremely nice and knowledgable, with the two of us not being from the San Antonio area, the staff was very helpful and like my title says, WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!

We stayed at the Westin La Cantera in 2003, and it was just a beautiful resort!! The hot tub outside is bigger than a lot of normal hotel pools, and is just fabulous, as well as the pool itself. We also got a great deal!!! Wish we had more time to stay!! We will DEFINITELY go back!!! Great place to stay if you're going to Seaworld or Fiesta Texas!! Of course, our favorite chain of hotels is the Westin, w/the "heavenly bed".

I loved my stay in San Antono Tx...it was amazing.Downtown was lovely ...the riverwalk..breathtaking...I enjoyed it very much.To make things better...my stay at La Cantera resort was comfortable.Its personnel were kind,clean,polite...etc...they were always there to help you.I should congratulate the Hksp manager..its workers made an outstanding job...Congratulations to the hskp`s team of la cantera....my bedroom was always clean...no dust....I strongly recommend this hotel..it has a breathtaking view of San Antonio.The week part of the hotel were the restaurants.Branno`s cafe didnt fullfil my expectations and Francesca`s at Sunset was ok...however very expensive.
