The Westin La Cantera Resort San Antonio, San Antonio

We decided to go on a short family vacation over Memorial Day Weekend. The hotel was fabulous for our 20 month old. The baby pool kept her busy they entire time. I wish there were more activities for little ones like a play area. They had looney tune characters walking through the grounds, a bounce house, water slide, smores at night. The resort is very reasonable and the service was pretty good. I did not think the buffet style restaurants were that good or provided good service. Overall we loved it and will definetly take her back.

The casita rooms are great but the main pool is completley overcrowded and the service is hihgly lacking. probably wouldnt go back due to the service.

The Westin is over priced and doesn't live up to the expectation of a 5 star hotel. The service was fine, but the hotel as a whole was4 stars at best.

it was so good i liked everything about it there was not one thing i didnt like about the hotel the people who worked there made you feel like you were home it was great i know next time i come to visit san antonio im coming here again.

staff is incredibly rude, the service and attention is awful, do not want to ever come here again. The rooms where ok, but other than day, is not worth paying 200.

What a fantastic stay! The staff went above and beyond. Especially the front desk person by the name of Chad. He made it his personal responsibility to ensure my great time. Thanks Chad!

we have stayed at la cantera twice, and particularly like its family friendly ambiance. tho my husband and i stayed alone this trip, we experienced a relaxing family time with our grandchildren last visit. my daughter and i sat by the pool where the kids romped and played with other guests, and my husband and son in law enjoyed golfing at the excellent course. we found francesca's to offer delicious cuisine and impeccable service. the breakfast buffet was a quick way to start the morning and offered a good variety..from old fashioned oatmeal and omlets to an array of fresh fruits. the vouchers we received toward breakfast encouraged us to try the buffet and it was a plus. the hot tub under the stars, the wholesome family clientele, the wonderful view, and the shuttle to the state of the art mall at the bottom of the hill impressed me. although we didnt go to fiesta texas, its extremely close and convienient. if i were to say i would like anything to be more expansive, it would be more choices at the two mini markets on property. If i had young children, i'd want more choices for eating too. maybe a luncheon cafeteria style meal..........a very good experience overall.

This is not what to expect of a 4 star resort. From the service to the rooms, the quality was very poor. The bell man "lost" our luggage. We had to wait 2 hours before they found our luggage in another person's room. We were upset but didn't complain and they were happy with that. They didn't offer us any compensation. When we checked out, the person at the desk asked us how our stay was, and I told them exactly how I felt. Still, just a lukewarm apology and nothing else. I filled out a card stating what I didn't like, but haven't heard anything from them, and it's been over 6 months. The room wasn't what you expect for what you pay. The bathroom floor had hairs on it. The counter tops looked like they were just wiped off with a cloth.. The bath tub was dingy. We didnt have any soap or shampoo and had to call down for those. Just basic things you expect out of any hotel wasn't achieved. And this is supposed to be a high class resort! The comforter had a wine stain on it. And the "heavenly bed" was far from that. It was very lumpy. We've stayed at many resorts and this one just pales in comparison.

This place is made for both a romantic get away or a place to take the family. The scenery is beautiful. You can go outside enjoy the fresh air and scenery with you loved ones. It reminds me of a little town in Italy. You can capture wonderful pictures as well with the surronding landscaping. The accomodations are delightful. Of course we will first have to mention, the beds and the shower heads are plus. The restaurants, mini convienence store, and golf course are so convienent you never have to drive anywhere. But if you bring the family, the hotel will shuttle you to Fiesta Texas where you can take the children to have fun. The hotel offers a great family package during the summer which includes tickets to Fiesta Texas. The make it so easy for you to plan a short get away. They also have romantic packages for two. We also love the pools. Again they accomodate private ones for the romantic ones and the kiddie pool for the children. The bar service is wonderful and it includes a variety of drinks. Oh, and in the summers the staff roast marshmellows for the children and end up making s'mores! I can go on and on and on about the place. It has everything. We mainly use it for a get away for the family. After staying here we return home very relaxed and are ready to begin you weekly cycle of school and work.

I just love the comfort it offers. It's so luxurious and romantic. We will be spending my wedding night there because my fiance and I love it so much! The views of the surrounding area are absolutely beautiful as well. Highly recommended!
