never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/10
The W Seattle made me feel more like an open wallet as opposed to a valued guest. I’m a platinum member of SPG hotels (which includes the entire W chain) I’ve stayed at the W Seattle twice but never will again, here’s why: The rooms are very small for this over priced property and despite the hotel being at limited capacity during both my stays my platinum status merely got me a higher room floor as opposed to the W New York which regularly offers me large corner rooms as available. Furthermore some staff members were atrocious during my visit including the bell hop that repeatedly barged into the elevators while guests were still attempting to exit or the staff member who cut in front of guests to beat them to the door letting it close rudely behind him. One front desk clerk was absolutely awesome the others including the concierge were absolutely not. Obviously corners are being cut here to save money, from squeezing as many rooms as possible per floor and I presume paying poor wages to its mostly uninterested staff. The W Hotel chain should, like I have, take note. I assure you I will not be back. As an SPG member I’ve since switched to the Sheraton Seattle where I feel at home and respected (including the much larger, far superior standard rooms)

Nice location, nice rooms, nice experience
By Antony, 3/8/10
It's perfectly located in the center of downtown seattle. Walking distance from many bars and restaurants as well as the seafront and farmers market (first starbucks, etc..). You are 2min away from the lightrail station taking you to the airport for $2.50. The room was clean, comfortable and had an awesome view (16th floor). The lounge is nice too.. I found the little treats (water. nuts, etc..) a bit pricey but no one forces you to take them either. I was there with a buddy of mine, 2 queen size bed. Enough room to move around. Nice flat screen TV.

Don't pay full fare
By August, 9/27/09
Pricelined this Hotel on a short trip. Our room was worn, Service was snooty at times, and great at others. Location is great but that was about it. Would make a great movie set for Hostel 3 ;-) East Germany meets Hollywood. An OK hotel, not worth full fare in our opinion.

"W"orst Experience EVER!
By HA, 9/11/09
Service was AWFUL! People were "bothered" by questions re: directions and attractions. No one was friendly in the least bit. We found this to be true all over the city. I will NOT be returning to the "W" or to Seattle for that matter!!

Not so hot
By Simonne, 7/8/08
Likes: The decor was BEAUTIFUL. Kind of dark but it was really pretty and funky. The whole place smelled great. Located near everything downtown. The toiletries were wonderful Bliss products. Dislikes: The bath robe in our room was stained! Gross. The hotel staff was snotty. I mean seriously, you work at a hotel as a receptionist! $40 to park at a hotel you've already paid WAY too much to stay in is kinda crazy.

Rude rude rude!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/26/08
A friend and I decided to go for a quick getaway and heard a lot about this hotel.... this is what I wish people told us about. They charge $35 a night for valet, $10 more than the other 4 star hotels. They charge $15 a day for internet, OR their business center charges 34 cents a minute in a small pathetic room. The concierge are RUDE, not helpful, and how they treat you will be determined by your looks. The room is decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. The Fairmont and Hyatt have equal if not better rooms. Overall... we both wished we stayed at the another hotel in town considering how much we paid.

Not quite the hype
By Steph, 5/26/08
I have stayed at many four star hotels... and this the first that had poor service and poor attitudes. The rooms were clean, and quite nice, and the location was convenient. However for the money, I'd rather be treated like a human being than someone who is not worth their time.

location was perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/07
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Best Hotel I've ever stayed at!!
By Money Honey, 7/10/07
I can't say enough about my experience at the W! I loved the cool atmosphere, this is obviously a hotel designed to be different, and it does a great job! My first experience with the staff set the tone for the 5 days I stayed there. After a cross country journey, I checked in to the hotel, only to find my credit card was not accepted, the man at the front desk was patient and accomodating, as I called the company to resolve the problem, which turned out to be a result of charges being made in multiple states over a short period of time. The room definately fit its name it was "Spectacular" the beds were amazingly comfortable! The view was fantastic. I was traveling with a dog, and he was treated with the same level of service as I was! He had his own comfy bed, special dog treats, and his own bowls! I took advantage of the complimentary dog walking service, and the whatever/whenever staff was beyond accomodating! While the hallway lighting is a bit dim, it added to the mood. I can't say enough about the staff and quality of the hotel, and would highly recommend it! The rates are extremely affordable considering the quality of the hotel.
