this place was a rip off. not what was explained in the brochure. The rooms were not clean, the food was lousy but it was all we could eat. too bad we couldn't eat it. Customer service was lousy. we were treated like we were not wanted
Liked how big the resort was and pool area. DISLIKED FOOD, SERVICE, HOUSE KEEPING
FOOD- was absolutely horrible... the only thing good was the guacamole (lunch), fruit, and omlettes in morning. every restaurant and specialty restaurant was not good AT ALL
SERVICE- Bartenders took forever as well as waiters/waitresses. Room service food was cold and gross. Dirty dishes took a long time outside the room to be taken.
HOUSEKEEPING/BAR SERVICE- Room service was non existent! Beds were hard as rocks (receieved 2 mattress pillows (after 7 hours), but coulda used 5 mattress pads) . When the bar service did come to our room my wifes $100 bill was missing from her wallet and left the $10 bill (like we wouldnt notice!)
I reccommend going anywhere besides this place. Save yor money!
Hurricane Emily swept through in October and we were scheduled to arrive the week before Christmas.
The rooms seemed small but probably due to the oversized bed and the extra large jacuzzi tub. The excursions take an innordinate amount of time due to waiting on what seemed to be a lot of different things. Would not do any if we went back. Everyone was extremely friendly.
Our only gripe was we booked this as a our 10 year anniversary, first time away from the kids. Hence picking an adults only resort.
When we arrived there were kids everywhere. The story from the managers was because of the hurricane they had to send kids from other resorts to this one. Management was unequivocally unwilling to do anything for us. We spent the week in a beautiful resort with screaming kids at dinner and kids splashing in the pool. Very disappointing.
Would we go back for the resort itself, probably. Will we return for the customer service...absolutley not. We will spend our hard earned money elsewhere
We had a perfect honeymoon thanks to Aventura Spa Palace!
The staff was wonderful and friendly, and we never felt like tipping was expected. However, we did tip because the service is better than anything I've seen in the USA.
The restaurants are all good with no reservations necessary and no waiting. Room service is prompt and yummy as well. I found the Japanese "Mo Mo Na Hana" and the Mexican restaurant to be spectacular. They make the guacamole fresh before your eyes and it is devine.
The pool areas were not crowded and there were plenty of areas in the shade and sun to choose from. The beach is rocky; there is not a smooth sand-to-ocean area, but you won't miss it.
The rooms are clean and have a nice big shower and soothing jacuzzi tub facing your ocean view. The sliding balcony doors shut out all sounds from the grounds, but the main room door from the hallway let a lot of echoing noise through. As long as you kept yourself busy the day before, you'll sleep right through it.
If your reservation includes the local tours, enjoy everything you can squeeze in, but still leave yourself at least one full day to relax by the pool. You should make your tour reservations soon after you check in because some of the tours/activities are not daily. We highly recommend the Paradise Snorkeling tour and parasailing. Bring bio-degradable sunscreen.
We stayed 7 days/6 nights and wished it was longer. If you can afford it, go for 10 days or more. This was a big expense for us (second largest of the whole wedding next to my ring), but it was worth every penny! ENJOY!
My husband and I went to Aventura Spa Palace for our honeymoon and fell in love with it! In fact, We went back the following year and in 2 months, will be there again! There literally isn't one negative thing I can think of in all of our time there that would make me ever want to go anywhere else! Definitely well worth the money..
This is the best place to go to relax and not have to worry about anything. Leave your cell phone, blackberry, and laptop and take your smile. The cost to get there and the cost of the resort is a bit higher then others but you get everything you need and it is well worth the cost!
Drank to much the night before and want some room service of chicken noodle soup, call it in 24x7, it's included! Want breakfast in bed, call it in, it's included too! The excursions are all included as well, and you get to go to all the different palace resorts. You can either take a taxi (very cheap) or sign up for an excursion that might drop you off at one of the palaces and then just grab a taxi back to your resort when you are ready. Your food and drinks are included, and that is at every Palace Resort, not just your own. When you are on the included excursions your food is often included. There is nothing quite like going on a vacation and not having to worry about what and where you are eating and how much things cost. That is a huge contributor to your relaxation!
Everyone is very helpful and friendly there, not just at the resort but in general. They are happy you are there to support there economy and will try to keep you happy so you tell your friends and family and keep coming back. I know I will, very soon!
Everything about this resort was top-notch. I still can't get over how friendly and helpful the all the hotel staff was. They would do anything to make your stay the best it could be. Food was also excellent and it was nice that it was all-inclusive. Everything was very well kept. I would have never guessed that they devastated by hurricane Wilma last year, everything is in perfect shape. The setting gives a very relaxed feel becuase it's adults only. The ride from the airport is a little long (just over an hour) but that has its advantages... (closer to Tulum and Playa de Carmen). All-around beautiful place. I would definately remcommend it!
