Beautiful and Relaxing

My husband and I love Aventura Spa. However, we have some problems with our room. They gave us a room that was stuck in the corner with hardly any view. So we went back twice until we got put on a waiting list for the next day. Not sure why since the hotel was not at all full. I guess they have member room and non-member rooms. We were on the bottom of the totem pole, I guess. The beds were somewhat hard, not the pillowtop I prefer. Also, with a slight sunburn, the towels were very coarse. The spa was magnificant. I had the most unbelieveable massage to muscles I didn't even know I had. I got up feeling like I was walking on a cloud. Also, one other draw back would be that I really missed not have a true ocean to enter. They had lagoons that was ocean fed, but no access to the actual ocean and beach. I would of loved to snorkel out on the reefs at the hotel rather than signing up for snorkel excursions. I would highly recommend the Mayan Adventure snorkel tour and Excret. The show in the evening was amazing. The nice thing about Excret and the hotel was that it was only 15 mins away. So during the day you were able to catch a bus back to eat at the hotel after all your snorkeling and swimming, get freshened up and return two hours later to tour the resort and see the animals, bird etc and stay for the show at 7pm. It's a long day but well worth it. My husband and I were extremely disappointed for the lack of nightlight. We missed dancing under the stars to Jazz, Caribbean music or even some Jimmy Buffett or Bob Marley sounds nightly. That was a real disappointment.
