A member of the Historic Hotels of America, the Todd Oldham-designed Hotel of South Beach is an Art Deco hotel located half a block from the beach and approximately 10 miles from Miami International Airport. The hotel is around the corner from Ocean Drive, on the corner of 8th and Collins, and across the street from designer shops. Originally built in 1939 by master architect L. Murray Dixon, today the hotel encompasses 53 deluxe rooms and suites, as well as a rooftop pool with panoramic ocean views. Guests have complimentary use of two beach chairs and one beach umbrella per room. Wish is an award-wining restaurant that serves American cuisine with Asian influences. Additional hotel amenities include twice daily maid service, a fitness studio, poolside cabanas, a pool bar, massage treatments, a lobby bar, private dining rooms, room service, parking (fee applies), and a multi-purpose business center. All rooms feature window seats, Frette bedding, mosaic drawer pulls, tie-dyed robes, complimentary wireless Internet access, HD flat screen tv's with cable, CD players, minibars, hairdryers, safes, double-paned windows, fogless shaving mirrors, rainhead showers, and products by the White Company of London.

Ideal Location and Superb Value

The Century is the perfect place to stay in South Beach. The location is close to everything and right across from the ocean. The staff is genuine and helpful. The price is great! Loved the room, quaint and clean and quiet enough to get some shut eye.

will never go back

this was our 1st time in miami and our son suggested this hotel-the room cost 400 a night-for that price we got a dorm size room-very small tv-1 queen bed-no radio or clock by bed-furniture should be in a kids room-bathroom so small we couldn't dry off in there had to go into bedroom to dry off-very dissappointed in size of room and size of bed and bathroom-for the money we paid i expected much more-the plus side was turn down service at night with 2 chocolates left-and hotel 1 block from beach-pool on roof-free beach chairs with umbrella-every thing there is beyond expensive-$17.00 for 2 pieces of french toast!! will never go back price we paid was a complete rip off!

We can't wait go back!!!

Overall a great time......We had a lil' mis hap with our stereo and cd player, it didn't work. (the hotel was packed , so they couldn't switch it out...we had no music for the weekend.) The front desk (Dani ) was awesome!!!!!! So was Demetrius..... I give it a 4 out of 5

I will never stay anywhere else!

I just returned from my trip to Florida and I can not stop gushing about this hotel. My good friend and I drove down to Miami from her house and from the moment we pulled up to when we checked out, the service and experience as a whole were amazing. the staff were SO sweet and nice, and really made us feel part of the family (which we sensed they really were). they were fun, helpful, accomodating, and really showed us a lot of attention. I'm guessing we probably don't look like their regular customers but it didn't matter and that's what impressed me so much. The rooftop pool was fabulous and we spent many hours there drinking Martin's amazing Mojitos and relaxing. We ate dinner at Wish Restaurant (part of the hotel) and it was equally fabulous...the manager came over to chat with us and see how we were doing and even comped us our dessert as we were celebrating my friend's birthday. i could go on and ON but I have never stayed at a hotel before where I was anxious to go back and visit.

Excellent location and amazing service!

The Hotel is located in a perfect spot, right in the centre of things. A nice walk or a cheap cab ride to where ever you want to go. The service was impecable, congratulations to management on their hiring skills. Wish restaurant was a great experience. Succulant meals guaranteed. (We even had a cheap thrill knowing our napkins would be refolded upon return from the washroom.) Overall an excellent experience, the downside was the rooms were noisy, smaller in size and no view. Usually very important to us but the friendly service, location and roof top pool made up for this!

Amazing Experience

Went to Miami last year (2005) and was amazed by the hospitality. Perfectly placed in the heart of South Beach with great clubs, restaurants, shops and beach just steps away. Although expensive, worth every penny.

Wonderful

Service was friendly and the location was convinient for me. The maids and housekeepers were very nice and assisted me with many things. Such as the room service and cleaning my room up nicely for me. The location of this hotel was good, since it was close to many of the hot spots.

Better than the diet !!

What can you say about South Beach....The atmosphere, the people, the restaurants, the hotels.....It's great! The rooms are sweet, the location is fabulous, people were great ! A vacation in South Beach is the way to go...even if you live in Ft Lauderdale!!!!!
