Awful Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/07
This place was a dump, and the service was awful. They only clean your room once a week. Staff is very unfriendly. They messed up my bill and quadruple charged my credit card. Unauthorized charges from the hotel showed up on my credit card account after I checked out. The manager never returned my phone calls to have the charges removed. I had to dispute the charges on my card to get them removed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a disaster!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/07
After I made my on-line reservations I called directly to Candlewood Suites to confirm that the room I had booked had two beds. Reception informed me that there was only one proper bed, but that the room included a couch (which was a pull-out bed) and that they would be happy to put a blow-up air mattress in the room as well. (In fact in my telephone conversation, reception input that request into the computer linked with my reservation.) All seemed well. However...upon our arrival everything went wrong. When we arrived in our room it reeked of cigarette smoke, even though we requested a non-smoking room. The front office staff cheerfully assigned us another room without a problem except the room only had 1 bed...for a party of 5! When I asked where the couch/pull-out bed was, the front desk informed me none of their rooms included a couch/pull-out bed. When I inquired about the blow-up mattress I was informed that, although I had requested it, and it was in the computer, it was not guaranteed and they would have to check and see if one was available. At this point we had 1 bed for 5 people and the front office telling us that there simply were no more rooms available. What a nightmare! In the end they were able to find us a second room, but not for the $30-add-on-a-suite price, but rather $99, and that was in addition to the $70 we had already paid for the original room. I again requested that a blow-up mattress be placed in one of the rooms and reception assured me there was indeed one available and they would put it in the room, so we headed out for the evening. We returned to our rooms exhausted and sleepy at 11:00 pm, only to find that, again, there was no blow-up mattress. The night shift was much more amenable and organized than the day shift and soon rounded up the blow-up mattress, however, upon its arrival...there was no bedding! We had to wait another half hour for the bedding to arrive. We weren't able to go to bed until midnight. What a disaster!

We've stayed in worse hotels...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/07
We got a one-bedroom suite. Quite spacious and well appointed. I could easily stay there long term. The full kitchen is nicely stocked. The room overall had alot of ammenities. Ironing board, dvd player, cd player, dishwasher, blow dryer, 2 TV's, 2 phones, plenty of pots and pans, dishes and pyrex bowls... dish towels, cutting board... Even a bag of popcorn ready for the microwave. Laundry facilities are free. DVD rental is free. Internet access is free. Snacks & food to cook, available 24/7. Our carpet and furniture, however, were worn and in need of replacement. The bed was sunken in and we could feel the springs. The TV's and phones were either broken or lacked instuctions for use. The front desk clerk I dealt with, wasn't very helpful or pleasant, and the room wasn't cleaned well by the previous housekeeper. 15 minute drive to Disneyland or convention center. Nicer than the 'extended stay' chain. Overall, I'd stay there again, with a discounted online rate.

most unfriendly hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/06
I Never have stayed at a Candlewood Suite, but i am a Holiday inn priority club member and decided to give it a try. thinking with my platinum status, i would get at least some attention or good service... NONE AT ALL. Reserved for 7 nights and got to stay only 2 nights and went to a simple motel for half the price At candlewood suite i found out at check in that you only get maid service once a week...so only when i am about to leave... not even taking garbage... imagine that u live with ur own trash for 7 nights. You can exchange towels for yourself at the front desk. You get a coffee pot, but only enough for 2 days (you have to buy the rest in their store). The only positive thing is that it is clean. Stay somewhere closer...this place is a disaster The general manager had a controlling manner and was cold and officious instead of being warm and friendly. I was not allowed to get an additional pillow as they said, my room does not qualify for that. They do not provide even an cable for your internet but take 20 bucks for this simple 2$ low quality cable they give u... general manager who took serious offense to what I thought constructive feedback on internet cable could be loan ed for a deposit... I had a hard time settling him down, as he became threateningly loud for bringing the feedback and demanded us to leave. My Bottomline, NEVER AGAIN CANDLEWOOD SUITE... i am giving up my platinum membership at holiday inn all together. It s NOT worth it to be loyal to them

This is what I expect from a hotel.
By Dion, 07/13/06
The suites were well set up, the facilities clean, and the staff helpful, pleasant, and courteous. The DVD/VCR in the room was an unexpected bonus. The lending library at the main desk had a fair selection from which to choose. Proximity to banking and minor shopping was perfect. Once the construction is complete, freeway access will be ideal. Of course, the construction is beyond the hotel's control and is slated to finish by late 2006. My main complaint was the absence of a pool, especially since the neighboring competitor did have one out front. Free hi-speed Internet access should be default in an establishment of this level. However, these are not deal-breakers as far as I'm concerned.

Decent rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/04
I have stayed at this Candlewood location 4 times. They have always given us a great rate and have been very helpful with setting up group rates for funerals, etc. The rooms are very clean and do come with kitchenettes. The only negative I would say is that the second bed is a pull-out couch, so for adults, it's not very comfortable.
