What a disaster!

After I made my on-line reservations I called directly to Candlewood Suites to confirm that the room I had booked had two beds. Reception informed me that there was only one proper bed, but that the room included a couch (which was a pull-out bed) and that they would be happy to put a blow-up air mattress in the room as well. (In fact in my telephone conversation, reception input that request into the computer linked with my reservation.) All seemed well.
However...upon our arrival everything went wrong.
When we arrived in our room it reeked of cigarette smoke, even though we requested a non-smoking room. The front office staff cheerfully assigned us another room without a problem except the room only had 1 bed...for a party of 5! When I asked where the couch/pull-out bed was, the front desk informed me none of their rooms included a couch/pull-out bed. When I inquired about the blow-up mattress I was informed that, although I had requested it, and it was in the computer, it was not guaranteed and they would have to check and see if one was available. At this point we had 1 bed for 5 people and the front office telling us that there simply were no more rooms available. What a nightmare!
In the end they were able to find us a second room, but not for the $30-add-on-a-suite price, but rather $99, and that was in addition to the $70 we had already paid for the original room. I again requested that a blow-up mattress be placed in one of the rooms and reception assured me there was indeed one available and they would put it in the room, so we headed out for the evening. We returned to our rooms exhausted and sleepy at 11:00 pm, only to find that, again, there was no blow-up mattress. The night shift was much more amenable and organized than the day shift and soon rounded up the blow-up mattress, however, upon its arrival...there was no bedding! We had to wait another half hour for the bedding to arrive. We weren't able to go to bed until midnight. What a disaster!
