started out okay.
By P, 8/26/11
We got there around 7:30 and the staff was pleasant and helpful. They have free internet, free appetizers and drinks 5-7, and free breakfast. All very nice. Until you get to your room and ready to go to bed, then you get the surprise of a wet bed with a big, no make that huge (because it was nearly the entire middle of the bed) yellow spot. It was already midnight and my daughter was asleep so I didn't want to switch rooms. They tried to bring in a roll away, wouldn't fit into the room. So they offered that I could sleep in the next room. I woke my daughter up after all because I wouldn't have been able to sleep at all with her in the next room, but all my belongings were in the next room, so I barely slept. The next morning, fully dressed with the exception of shoes, we had on socks, we went down to breakfast only to be told that we couldn't eat until we had shoes on. The breakfast wasn't worth going back up to put them on. The gravy was thick and pasty tasting, the sausage was cold, the only saving grace was the belgian waffle that I made myself, it was hot and tasted the same as it does at every hotel that has them. No special toppings for it or anything. Pretty much the same thing that I could get elsewhere only tasting worse. Then the "cook" had the nerve to discuss my going back to the room for my shoes with another guest and the front desk clerk. Very unprofessional. Even if we did need to put on shoes, it wasn't her place to discuss it with anyone. For any reason. If you like simple non descript breakfast that just fills an empty place, then you'll like this. The rooms were cleaned by Sonia, who didn't. We found candy wrappers in our room, this same room with the wet bed. Supposedly there is a satisfaction guarantee. But I wasn't satisfied, and I guess that is the guarantee, that I wouldn't be. I had a cleaner room and better "continental" breakfast at the Days Inn in Muskogee, Ok than I did at the Drury Inn in Kansas City, MO! Supposedly, giving me a clean bed to sleep in was supposed to satisfy me. If you stay here, make sure you check every single thing, and get it right BEFORE you go to sleep.

Amazing stay, every time
By BrianneL, 5/31/11
We loved this place! amazing service, employees are genuinely nice and helpful. The first time we stayed, we realized it was a bit far to Worlds of Fun, but we decided it was worth it for the free breakfast we wouldn't have gotten at a hotel closer to the park. We were hooked after the first stay, and have been back a total of 3 visits. (We should buy season passes to Worlds of Fun as often as we stay!) They also offered us discounted passes to the park. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants friendliness, comfort and a great deal!

Wish I was there again tonight!
By SocialKim, 6/3/08
This Drury Inn was a pleasant surprise. I had searched the Internet for a reasonably priced hotel for an unplanned KC overnight. My rate was great, $64/night for a king, no smoking room. I was concerned that perhaps the facilty was not well kept but upon arrival found that it was beautiful! The lobby is inviting, clean and open. Popcorn, sodas and coffee were available and there were several flat screen tv's scattered around sofas and tables. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly. He made check in a snap! Our room was clean, bathroom spotless (I am picky about bathroom cleanliness)and there were plenty of towels. We walked next door to Cracker Barrel for a late dinner and the service there was good, as usual. There is also a Wendy's next door if fast food is more your style. The hotel is close to Zona Rosa so we had a large number of possibilities to choose from but it was nearly ten and we were tired. There is parking in front of the lobby entrance or there is gated parking on the side of the hotel. I imagine there is a side door entrance but we didn't park there (got princess parking in front of the lobby doors). The hotel provides an airport shuttle and you can leave your car in the gated lot for your trip. We weren't doing this but it's very nice to know that it's available. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool and a small hot tub inside. We looked at it, and the small fitness room, but didn't use them. Everything looked nice and clean. There were some unattended children of early teen years but not so much that it would have been annoying if we'd decided to use the pool. In the morning, I realized I'd forgotten to pack lotion so I stumbled downstairs at 6:45 to ask for some at the front desk. They were exceedingly helpful and the staff made a point of asking if there were any other personal care items I needed. I was surprised to see that the breakfast buffet was already up and running as it was a weekend and the buffet is scheduled for 7 AM on Sat and Sun. I wound up making up two plates of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs (from liquid, not my fav due to texture but they still taste like scrambled eggs), sausage patties, bananas and coffee and taking it back to the room on the thoughtfully-provided tray. Surprised my hubby with breakfast in bed! It was tasty, just needed a little s&p. There were multiple condiments provided, even salsa, shredded cheese and bacon bits for the eggs. There was a belgian waffle maker, too, but we skipped that this time. The shower was wonderful! Great spray, good curtain, no mold, strong magnets in the bottom of the curtain. I could have stayed in there for hours. I didn't bring my hair dryer so I used theirs. It was fine, just needed to get used to how hard/hot it was compared to mine. The room included a mini fridge and a tiny microwave, wifi, and too many cable channels to watch. Bed was comfortable, a little soft for my hubby but perfect for me. We had six pillows total. I usually hate hotel sheets but these were so soft they felt like thin flannel. Loved them! Overall, we were so pleasantly surprised that we didn't even mind that the KC airport area tacked on $10 in taxes plus a "bed fee" of about $2. Weird. Since we didn't have to pay for breakfast, it all evened out. We are already planning to stay here again and will make it our KC favorite.

The Best Hotel!!
By JL, 1/25/08
This place was very clean. The staff there were all very friendly. The pool was very clean and the hot tub was really relaxing. The guy who made the popcorn was telling us jokes. And its in a great location. It is the best hotel I have ever been to. My favorite part was the free pepsi. If you are looking for a relaxing stay this is the place.God Bless.

Way to go!!!!
By T, 8/27/05
I really liked the atmosphere and the location. There was so much to do! I liked the availibilty of free snacks where you can sit and meet people or go back to room and relax. The swimming pool was so neat it was an indoor/outdoor pool. I can not forget the staff there. They were personable and didn't act like they were in a hurry even with a lobby full of people and yet they got me through in a timely fashion.
