Its 28 guest rooms and suites are elegantly decorated with period and reproduction antiques and each has a deluxe private bath, high-speed Internet, a refrigerator, cable TV and a wet bar. Their on-site restaurant, Krazy Kat's, is located in the old blacksmith's shop and serves eclectic continental cuisine.

We have been there three times and are going back in December 2007.

We are very picky travelers and have never been disapointed with the Inn. Crazy Cats is average for dinner, but we have enjoyed the lunch and breakfast. The dinner menu just has never had items we like. We are planning another trip and can't wait to stay on Privy Lane this time. We always feel that we were away for a long time. To stay less than two nights is a mistake. You need that much time to enjoy the ambiance. The Great Room is a lot of fun and we've enjoyed meeting other guests there. One of our favorite places and we just returned from La Costa in California and I would equate the two places. This one is just more quaint.

Quaint Yet Upscale Inn

The Montchanin Inn is a treasure. Located in the rolling hills of Suburbian Wilmington, DE, this is a great getaway, even for locals. The food is excellent and rooms are impeccable. It is a bit expensive, but the atmosphere can't be matched.
