bad smell in room+ bad service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/11
We got to the hotel at 1am,the front desk staff was very inept. We got to our room and the smell was unbearable- and I am the one that can usually handle smells. It seemed like it was a smoking room at some point. We immediately went back to get another room, but after watching the front desk clerk trying to check in another family for half an hour, we decided to leave and spend the night at a rest stop since it was already 2am. Worst front desk staff I have ever encountered. Nothing personal, just not the right job for them. They refused to refund our money.

Not Nice hotel staff
By not worth it, 7/21/09
The staff was not friendly or nice. Never went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms were way to pricy for what they were, I think they jacked up the price once they knew girls softball teams were in town to play in a state tourny. The hotel does sit back behind an alley looks trashy getting to the hotel. Pool is not open long enough for late check in travelers. Maid came around at 10:30 telling us she needed to start cleaning and pretty much kicked us out of the pool area and breakfast nook. They would not even turn on the lights in the breakfast nook for us it was 8:00pm. (said they were on a timer). In the morning another maid started cleaning up before people were done eating, at 100.00 bucks a night the staff should have been better at serving the guest needs. The pool was not that clean and the clorine smell was so intense it burned your eyes just to sit in the pool room. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Slow Internet
Unless you get a room near the front desk you will have 2-3 bars strength at dial up speed, had to change rooms because old tv died last night too. The staff is great.

Very nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/08
The staff was very helpful. Clean room and quiet place. Not the easiest place to get into, feeling like going through an alley but o.k. once we found our way.

Would definitely go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/07
This hotel was priced just right. The absolute best nights sleep I have ever had at a hotel. The bedding and pillows were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. The showers were on the large side and also appeared to be fairly new. The play area was a little dirty, but good entertainmet for kids while I was drying pool clothes. The pool was a little on the small side but comparable. At least the room was full of windows and had a high ceiling, so you didn't feel like the air was choking you. The breakfast was clean and plentiful, although redundent. Mostly processed food, what else can you expect from a hotel with no resteraunt. I would for sure stay with this hotel again if I am ever in the Port Huron area.

Nice while there-awful when credit card bill came
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/05
We rented the conference center for a party along with 6 guest rooms for various out of town guest and family. Everything was wonderful for the party and the overnight stay except the conference room was non-smoking. We didn't know this before the party started and there were 4 of us smoking after we had finished decorating. One of the "hostess" informed us that we would have to go outside to smoke. We did that for the whole duration of the party. Unbeknownst to any of us they charged us an extra $100.00 for smoking in the conference center which they didn't say anything about at the end of the party or even the next day upon check-out. We did NOT smoke in that room after we were told it was non-smoking. I've talked to the "hostess", customer relations, general mgr, on up to the owner after getting our credit card bill to no avail, so I guess that is "Customer Service"

You are treated like family, all staff are very personable. They have great hospitality events, and the best Cinamon Rolls anywhere!
By Janice, 8/31/05
The staff treat you as if you were family. The place is very, very clean and neat. The breakfast in the morning is very well-balanced, and then they throw in the world's best tasting hot cinamon rolls and ymmm!! I loved the shower head, and the luxurious thick towels as well. My husband actually stayed there for well over six months on a business venture, and I drove to visit him, and we both were always treated like family. We did not want for anything! Very, very nice place to stay when you cannot be at home.
