We could live here!
What's not to love? The service is super-friendly, the rooms are very nice, and I love all the extras. The bistro in the lobby has very reasonable prices and a great selection. They serve Starbuck's coffee. Eating at their bistro and getting snacks for the room is really convenient, since you have the option of simply charging it to your room. The indoor pool is very pleasant and family-friendly. The elevator works smoothly and quietly. The price was a steal at under a hundred bucks for two queen beds and a sofa-bed.
I liked that the rooms open to a quiet indoor hallway. Also, they have real coffee mugs and water glasses in the rooms, complete with coasters, not just the old plastic and paper cups. The bathroom is spacious, and has a heater-light.
Due to our mixed history with hotels, I was quick to alert the manager about a small stain on the carpet immediately upon checking in. (It was hardly worth mentioning, but since we travel with children, we are an easy scapegoat for pre-existing damages.) I was relieved when the manager assured me that they never charge their guests for damages within reason, but she thanked me for bringing the flaw to their attention. Also, I was amazed at how family-friendly this hotel is. When they told me my room was on the second floor, I voiced my concern that my 3-yr-old's footsteps might bother anyone below, but they just thanked me for my concern, and said they'd simply not rent out the room under us during our stay.
The location is great, right off the freeway, and next door to Outback Steakhouse and Cracker Barrel. Also within a couple minutes drive, is an Arby's, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Big Boy, Taco Bell, and Red Robin. It's close to plenty of shopping in Brighton, but it's also just a few minutes drive from the Tanger Outlet a couple exits away.
