Reasonable price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/11/11
Very well kept rooms and a friendly staff. However the food was very poor. i would suggest they hire a chef who knows how to cook. I enjoy a chuck wagon style breakfast but not the slop I received for breakfast. the Marine Corps had much better food then this place.

Fined us for our nonexistent dog
By Erin Robertson, 3/14/10
This is the second year we stayed at the Gonzo Inn so that my husband could run in the Moab Red Hot race. It is a fun, funky place, but we have not had a fridge or a bathtub, so that makes it less family-friendly. This year we had a good visit, paid our bill, and then were surprised to find an additional $100 charge on our credit card. We called and they said that housekeeping had noted we had a dog in our room, so they assessed a fine. Our dog was back in Colorado. I was told to call back to talk to a manager. The manager explained that housekeeping recorded that there was dog food and a bowl of water on the floor, and pet hair throughout the room. Totally untrue. They must have gotten the room number mixed up, I offered. Not possible was the response - it was not a busy weekend and "housekeeping doesn't make mistakes". We went back and forth for a while. Finally the manager said she would refund the charge, but again reiterated that "housekeeping is very thorough," clearly implying I was lying. After all that we checked their website, and it says pets are welcome for $30/night. We only were there 2 nights, so I guess they were assessing a $40 fine for us not disclosing we had a dog (although of course, we had no dog). I will not stay there again.

Great location - expensive for Moab
By Heather, 4/24/08
The least expensive room is $152 in 2008 most are $200. It's in the center of town, near Utah State Liquor Store and an easy, short walk to restaurants. I like it, but thought it was expensive. Definitely one of the finer places to stay in Moab. Every room has a patio or balcony, and the views are excellent.
