exactly what I dreamed of in Venice

We paid extra for a canal view which was well worth it. It was a little noisy but being woken up by gondeliers singing and motor boats zooming past was offset by the quiet moments when all you can hear is the water of the canal gently lapping outside the window or being able to sit in bed and watch the traffic on the canal. Compared to the noises that wake me up at home it was heaven!
The staff were great and dining room beautiful with good food, waking up to the smell of hot crosiants and coffee was a nice way to start the day.
It was a very convienient situation easy to get to from Piazza Roma where all the transport stops. So you can drop off our luggage before you get lost in Venice but also easy to find your way home as there are lots of signs for Piazza Roma.
We did meet someone who didnt have a canal view and their room was extremely small but our was very spacious, with three large french windows with overlooking a side canal and the grand canal. Lovely furniture and chandliers and a nice little bar to have a drink before bed.
We loved it and would reccomend to anyone who can cope with a little noise.
