Hilarious
This place was hilarious! I loved it. Its a really great value for money hotel and the staff are friendly and obliging. Its so cheap that it worked out at something really silly like 12 pounds each per night. We went in July, Sevilles hottest time, and it was between 38 and 40 degrees throughout our visit. However, we found our twin room not only very clean and spacious but also cool in this intense heat. The location of this hotel in relation to major sites is just splendid; you dont need taxis just your own two feet to take you across the bridge and into the heart of the old town were you can find all the sites such as the Giralda. The Plaza de Espana is also in walking distance of the hotel in the opposite direction.
The reason I found this hotel so hilarious was due to several things. I wouldnt say that they were bad things but they did make me giggle. Firstly, the corridors of the hotel were very dark and long and reminded me of the film the Shining it was a little spooky and I half expected Jack Nicholson to appear wielding an axe at any point. Secondly, if you have seen the film "Delicatessen" then you'll know what I mean when I say we had a bed situation. The beds in our room happened to be the most squeakiest I have ever come across in my life - albeit comfortable and clean you couldnt move a toe without a piercing screech. If you are restless sleeper like me then youll understand what I mean when I say the squeaking was so bad I was scared to move. This resolved me to hysterical giggling on the first night and then to moving my mattresses onto the very clean floor the second night to avoid further squeaking. One word of advice Id like to give is to anyone thinking of booking this hotel is to ask for a room at the back of the hotel or take ear plugs. Our room was in the front and was very noisy at night because of, scooters, singing birds and dustbin men who come at about 1 am in the morning to do the bins.
I would not say this was a major issue as this is a very good hotel and its quirky but charming features certainly wouldnt put me off returning there in fact its the only place in Seville Id stay - even with the squeaky beds
