behind expectations

As a regular costumer (it was my 6th time in this resort) i must say that the new owners are killing the magic of this place.
This resort used to be fantastic, specially for the very friendly and helpful staff, always trying to meet our needs. This year, the staff was toughly reduced and the service quality was really going down. At lunch time we have to wait a lot for being served, and half of sport and entertainment activities were cut off. The gym needs to be refurbished – there are a lot of devices broken – and the spa pool was at air temperature instead of the 37ºC(99ºF) it used to have.
The restaurant was on works and reduced to 1/3 of its normal area but the hotel was full so, at dinner there were queues for a table and a huge mess in the buffet. Obviously, this problem could be easily avoided if the resort management did not accept so many reservations for that period…
At night – with few exceptions - the shows were poor. Who can stay awake sitting on a chair while listening samba, jazz or forró for two hours? In the past they used to have musicians and singers performing at night and an entertainment team that used to pick up the guests for some social games (such as Bingo or a very funny Cultural Quiz), dancing (with easy dancing routines) or activities related to theme of the night (they used to have thematic nights).
I must say ( with sadness) that that the only concern of this new owners is profit not the guests or the quality of service. The lack of service quality – according with the standards we were used to – is also influencing the customers’ choice… there is a noticeable downgrading in the guests.
I’ve talked with other regular costumers and everybody was experiencing the same feeling of deception…so, this year we are going somewhere else. I’m looking forward to hear from other regular costumers reviews and find if the resort returns to its “good old times”…
