Resort in calm location, good food & cinema
I recommend Academia because it is outside the downtown area, and far from traffic noise, congestion, street peddlars, etc. The Academia has multiple restaurants (Italian, Chinese, Japanese - of excellent quality which are only a couple of minutes walk from room). Staff is professional and friendly. Two swimming pools, and excellent gym (with Excellent trainers) with good American-quality equipment. Dozens of tennis courts, with instructors if you wish.
Disadvantages include the fact hotel/resort is outside of downtown Brasilia area, so need to pay for taxis (US$5-6 ride into town) -- but the advantages of a 12-screen cinema with lots of foreign films, bars, live music, large auditorium with frequent events, including live-music and multiple restaurants far outweight the disadvantages -- particularly for foreigners who might be interested in a tranquil, almost rural settting.
