Do not book with John Gouth
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/11
Rented the place and paid in full. Had to call several times to get a confirmation and then when we arrived had to wait until 5 pm to check in. This guy is a rip off and con artist. Was told we could not have the condo for the last two days that we rented it due to being shown by realitor. He gave us our money for the two days but was not apologetic or did not offer to pay the difference for our stay at hotel which was over $300. Watch out for this loser.

Rip Off
By Tracie, 6/14/11
We stayed in room 1306 Tower 1, even on the 13th floor you could still hear the banging of the roofers. I had not seen my sisters in over a year and we were very disappointed that we had not even been warned of the constant banging that would be going on. We even had a very close call when a huge aluminum piece of roofing was dropped when we were going into the foyer and scared my niece half to death! If it had bounced a little more towards us it would have hit her!! The condo was filthy. There were stains all over the carpets and a wet spot in one room that did not dry the entire time we were there. The AC was not working when we first got there, the tubs and showers were dirty and moldy. The remote was missing in the master bedroom and we never got a new one. We got there at 4:31 and the office had closed and we had to go to the other place and get keys. Because the pool in our tower was closed we had to maneuver the through the yellow tape and boards set up to keep us out. In the future we will deal strictly with owners, we paid $400 a night and felt ripped off. I asked for a comment card when I checked out and was instructed to go to the website. I'm posting this on every website I can find!!!!

LOVED IT!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/09
This was our first family vacation. My husband and I took our 2 grown daughters and little granddaughter with us. We arrived around 12midnight and had to go down the road a block or so to the Majestic to check in. The guy at the desk spoke broken english but only took about 15 min to check us in.This we were happy about until we drove back to Long Beach to our condo and the key cards didnt work. It took 3 phone calls and 45 min to get us in our room. Our 18 month old granddaughter was not happy about the wait to say the least. The security guard was very nice but didnt have a clue.He finally got us in our room and told us to go to the front desk the next day for new key cards. We were very excited about the rooms, the decor, the kitchen and the wonderful view from every window of the ocean and beach. The next morning, we went to the front desk for new keys and that guy was a complete jerk. After spending close to $900 for 4 nights, we felt like he could have been a little nicer. He blamed us stating that the key cards must have been placed near our cell phones and were deactiviated, otherwise they would have worked. Well , I had the key cards in my hand from the time we got them till we got to the room and my cell battery was dead and not even near me. The pool was great, the location was great, everything you could possibly need to make it a great time. We will stay there again next time we visit PCB but will check in before 5 pm(while the main office is open) and hope for nicer help next time.Later, after we got the new keycards, the jerk at the front desk even treated other employees like he did us. Hope they get rid of him soon! Jane in Rome Ga

We will go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/09
We arrived early hoping to check in ahead of time but our room was not ready . The young lady who checked us in called us when the room was ready . ( 2 hours before listed check in time ) She issued us our property and car pass as well and allowed us to use the pool before our room was ready . Our room was clean and what a view ! The sliding doors to our balcony had broken latches butif someone wanted to repel of the roof and take our stuff , more power to them . We had a great time . We stayed in Tower # 2 room 702 .

January in Panama City Beach??
By Owlet, 1/22/09
The Resort appears to be older compared to its neighbors. Checked into a top floor, one bedroom unit managed by Joni's Beach Rentals. The one bedroom is a little small - good for a couple but way too small for 3-4 people. Furnishings were a bit dated and due for a rehab. Housekeeping was on the ball - our unit was clean which is always a plus. The single bath is off the master bedroom which makes it awkward for anyone sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. The view of the gulf is absolutely fabulous!!! However, when we stepped out onto the balcony to admire the view, we quickly retreated back into the condo because the balcony was covered with pigeon poop!! Ugh. A quick call to Joni's brought housekeeping back to clean up the mess - they were prompt and very apologetic for the mess. The internet WiFi is tricky to get started but once on line, worked very well. It was way TOO COLD to sample the heated pool/spa but they looked nice. The beach is gorgeous - fine, white sand and lots of it. The kitchen was small but fully stocked except for no dishwashing soap. Also, bring your own extra toilet paper - you get one roll when you arrive and that's it. Our unit had a stacked washer/dryer which was nice. The bed, king size, was very comfortable. Overall, satisifed with what we got - no disappointments. Just don't do it in January...

THE ONLY PLACE TO GO TO.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/08
WE HAVE GONE TO PANAMA CITY BEACH FOR ABOUT 25 YEARS AND HAVE STAYED AT MANY PLACES, BUT BY FAR LONG BEACH IS THE BEST OF ALL. LET ME SAY ALWAYS GO THROUGH THE VRBO RENTALS. THEY HAVE THE CLEANEST, AND WELL MAINTAINED PROPERITIES. WE RENTED A ONE BEDROOM THE FIRST TIME WE STAYED AT LONG BEACH, AND THEN THE NEXT WE MOVED UP TO TWO BEDROOM AND THIS YEAR WE ALREADY RESERVED A THREE BEDROOM AND WE ARE TAKING 10 PEOPLE WITH 5 OF THEM BEING CHILDREN. WE KNOW THEY WILL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS WE DO, AND WILL GET HOOKED ON LONG BEACH JUST AS WE HAVE DONE. THE VIEWS ARE PERFECT FROM EVERY SINGLE ROOM (EXCEPT BATHS) AND THE SECURITY IS GREAT. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE REVIEWS SAYING THE SECURITY WASN'T GREAT. WE HAVE ALWAY FELT 100% SAFE AND SECURE. WE ALWAY COME DOWN OVER NEW YEARS AND "YES THE ARE FIREWORKS" BUT THAT IS PART OF THE FUN. WE WILL ALWAYS STAY AT LONG BEACH AS LONG AS WE CAN MAKE IT DOWN THERE. PLEASE REMEMBER TO RESERVE ON LINE THROUGH "VRBO FOR PANAMA CITY BEACH" LIKE I SAID THEY TAKE CARE OF THEIR RENTALS, AND ARE USUALLY CHEAPER TO BOOT......PLUS AND PLUS. HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY YOUR STAY AS MUCH AS WE ALWAY DO....THE WIRELESS INTERNET ALSO LETS YOU STAY IN CONTACT WITH EVERYONE WHILE YOU ARE AWAY FROM HOME, ANOTHER PLUS.....HA HA. Not what we expected..
By PCB Visitor, 6/23/08
I really liked the floorplan as it was very roomy for our 2-1/2 families. However, we had to wash our own towels for our $1900/wk (5 days only) stay in the 3BR and my feet turned black every time I walked around without shoes. It was completely tiled and needed a good mopping. Dishes in the cabinets were dirty, table chairs were broken....It could've been nicer for the money. I'd much rather check on a beach house or one of the newer condo units recently built in PCB. And beware of the cold water in the lagoon pool; my toddler couldn't stand to be in there long for late June weather!! Also, stayed on the 10th floor and one of the elevators was broken throughout our stay - if not broke, it was unsafe by many comments of other occupants. By the way, where are the staff?? The only personnel I saw were the rude gate keepers. I won't be back.

Disappointed
By KevinH, 6/8/08
Let me start by saying that I have been visiting Panama City Beach for about 35 years now. I love it. I've stayed in many of the beachside resorts in the past, including the Long Beach several years ago. My memory of it was good so we decided to try it again this year. Bad idea. Pros: - It's on the beach, but so are all the rest. - Multiple nice pools, especially the main pool. - Centrally located. Also not a major advantage over other resorts. Cons: (these apply to our particular visit) - Ants. We were visited by an exterminator on vacation. I could've stayed home for that. On the upside, he was a really nice guy. - Faulty plumbing. When not actively utilizing the toilet we had to shut off the water to prevent it from running continuously. Again, this type of thing I can get at my house. - Faulty microwave oven. It SOUNDED like it worked, but...it didn't. - Dodgy service. Our key cards inexplicably quit working. No big deal in and of itself...card keys can easily be erased under various condiditions. The problem came when we were locked out of our room with arm loads of beach stuff and sweaty hot kids and it took multiple calls to the desk to get help. FYI, we were in tower IV which is a few hundred yards from the office. Walking to get a key wasn't really an option at the time. - Minor point. Buy a few cans of paint, could ya? With all the beautiful new resorts popping up like weeds, it might pay to updaye and renovate a little. In closing, please visit Panama City! Nice place for a vacation. Think twice about staying at the Long Beach Resort. P.S. Look up the Sea Screamer while you're there! It's a GREAT time!
