Run For Your Life!
If this was the only hotel in Silver City, I would sleep in my car by the side of the road and take my chances. When I checked in late on a Friday, went straight to bed, woke in the morning, opened curtains and saw that the desk chair was broken. I Reported it immediately to front desk, maintenance worker came up taking pictures with his cell phone and when I made the comment that I didn't break it, that it was like that he looked at me and said "well, I talked to housekeeping and they said the chair was fine last night. I got charged $50.00 for a chair I didn't even sit it. I was traveling with a college Softball team and there were 4 other rooms with issues, 1/2 bottles of shampoo, used soap and shampoo in the shower, opened bottles of shampoo and lotion, hot tamales (candy) left on the floor, dirty tissue left on the counter. Yet when I spoke with the general manager about the charge, she assured me that all the rooms are checked before each check-in. So basically, all 5 of the couples that had issues with their room are not being honest. On one other note, there was a high school baseball team there that was running around a slamming doors until 1 am and the front never did anything about it. When I mentioned this to the general manager she insisted that they had already checked out and we were the only team there. So obviously she does not have a clue as to what is going on in her hotel. I would not hold this against all Comfort Inns, since they are all privately owned because the next weekend, I stayed in Alamosa at the Comfort Inn and the room was spotless with an extremely courteous staff. Buyer beware if you find yourself staying at this hotel in Silver City!
