Elysees Ceramic Hotel, Paris

I first stayed at this hotel in 2001. I was at the Arc so I decided stop there and see if the place had been renovated, but to surprise it was still the same dump, nothing was changed, not even the filthy old ugly wallpaper. The photographer must have been paid a fortune because he made a dump look like a castle! The pictures that you see on the Internet are very different from the actual hotel. The only good thing about the place was the friendliness of the front desk staff and the location. The Arc is about 5 minutes walking distance. The bed had a sink hole in the middle of the mattress, and the bed was about a foot from the floor, almost like sleeping on the floor. The black and white TV had very poor reception, no cable! The place was dimly lit, the futniture was very old. If you love to shop, there's plenty of high end shopping available. There's not very many decent restaurants in the immediate area. This was the worst hotel that I've stayed, even worse that Motel 6. I would perfer to stay at a truck stop One last footnote, there were lots of panhandlers sleeping on walkway quite close to the hotel. This is not good for families, maybe ok for a cheap student weekend getaway.
