Coronado Inn, Coronado

I'm a college kid from Texas who had to go to Coronado for a wedding with my boyfriend. The price was great, the room was cleaned every morning while I was away, and although it was a little far from the beach (about 20 minute walking distance) I enjoyed being on the Ferry Landing side of Coronado. There are also quite a few restaurants located within walking distance. The staff at the Coronado Inn was friendly, even sharing a few stories about the Hotel Del Coronado as we waited for the taxi to pick us up. Overall, yes, I would recommend the Coronado Inn to others.

I did not actually get to stay there. We made a reservation a month in advance and were notified less than 48 hours before check-in that they did not have the crib they promised to us. It was a huge inconvienance and handled very unprofessionally. The staff member that promised the crib was made to 'handle' the situation. We were shuffled around and not allowed to talk to a supervisor or to be given any information on the owners of the inn. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy. False advertising and false promises.

The full kitchen was very nice and a great way to save money as a grocery store was within an easy walking distance. A sports bar, health food market, liquor store, restaurant, the ferry, and shopping were all within three blocks. We walked everywhere and often took the ferry to San Diego, so we spent almost nothing on transportation. The office and housekeeping staff were very nice, particularly Martha. Don't expect a fancy hotel, but it was clean and for the price and convenience, you can't beat it!

We have stayed here on all of our visits to coronado. We really like the friendly staff, the pool for our kids and the price. It's such a good deal for the island. I found out that they run specials different times of the year so be sure to call first. Also, my husband has been on business and likes the free internet and we like the desktop that we can use in the lobby.

Recent 3 day stay was very enjoyable. Great staff, pool, barbeque, 2 grocery stores nearby, brew pub nearby. Breakfast OK. Short drive to downtown and The Del. Wireless signal weak but 24 hr computer use in office. Nice "couple on a budget" getaway spot.

We found the accomodations very good. It is not the Del but it is a great bargin. We found it a great location to walk to most parts of the island.
