Holiday Inn Miami Airport West, Miami

We were shuttled to the hotel, had a very easy check in for the 5 rooms we reserved. We had dinner for all 18 in our group at the hotel restaurant, mostly sandwiches and fries, but some had meals, everyone was satisfied with their meal We were 9 kids and 9 adults, we played basketball and spend some time around the pool, it was in November, so it was a little cool for swimming. Overall I was very happy with the hotel, it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but it was great for what we wanted..

We went through Priceline so at least we didn't pay much. We had reserved a room with two queen beds and they attempted to give my son and I a king. Fortunately we were able to refuse that and then received the two doubles. We had also called ahead for a rate to be shuttled from the hotel to the port and were told it would be $20. We I began to make the reservation for the following morning, we were told it would be $40. I told them to forget it and that I would call around myself. After bartering I ended up receiving the $20 rate. What a pain! The pool was ice cold and the fitness center did not have even ONE PIECE of functioning equipment! There are no restaurants nearby and the staff barely spoke english. I would never stay in that hotel again.

i am writing this review at 4 a.m. in the morning. normally a heavy sleeper, I've been kept awake by a bunch of drunkards since the hotel management, in their infinite wisdom, decided to place an all night bar right with an open patio and music next to several rooms. never again

While in Miami on business, I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. The carpet is a little worn and dirty-looking, but the rooms are very clean and the staff very friendly. Although this hotel is right by the airport, and I could see planes coming in for a landing right over the hotel, it was very quiet inside. When I got to the hotel, the A/C was already on in the room (which is a BIG plus to me!) and the room was quite cool.
