Microtel Inn and Suites Rochester, Rochester

This is a very clean, very quiet motel. Very nice place to stay while visiting Mayo. Shuttle is very nice, on time every time. Free continental breakfast in the morning. Just a very nice place to stay and not outrageously expensive. I will continue to stay there as long as I'm visiting Mayo once a year.

I lost my wallet at a neighboring restaurant. For some reason it made its way to this hotel. The manager was resourceful enough to find where I worked, left a message for me, and even held on to the wallet for a week until I returned and got his message. I didn't spend a dime and they got my back. *That* is service. On separate occasions, I have visited friends staying at this hotel coming in from the cities for treatment at Mayo. From what I saw, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only issue is they are not right downtown, but they are next to a Broadway Pizza. They have the best buffalo wings in this town and pretty good pizza and sandwiches. Like other hotels around here, there is shuttle service to and from the clinic.

Our first night in Rochester was aweful at a run down buggy motel. The next day we went to Microtel and it was all uphill from there. The staff was very nice and helpfull. We required a handicap room wheelchair accessible which they were able to provide with a very large handicapp accesible bathroom and shower. The room was very clean and kept that way during our 7 day stay. There were lots of resturants and stores in very close proximity to the hotel. The mayo clinic was within a couple miles and easy to get to. The price was very affordable trust me I called them all. We had wonderfull breakfast everyday free coffee and cocoa anytime and free internet and long distance calls which was nice since we traveled so far and had children back home. Overall I would say magnificent if we have to return to Mayo this is where we will stay for sure.

There are much worse. People were very friendly and helpful. Our room was ok. There was hair all over the bed, clean otherwise. Only one chair to sit on with two people in room. Breakfast was ok. Could offer more choices. No place to sit and eat. No trays to carry food to room. No table and chairs to sit on in single room. Not bad. will check other place with same price or cheaper and offer more. They were booked when we were there.

This hotel was a complete relief for me after several days on the road in rundown hotels. I stayed here for one night while visiting a friend at St. Mary's Hopital, but I would have gladly moved in. The room and public areas were spotless and appeared to have been redone recently. The bed and bedding were wonderful. Breakfast could have had more offerings (maybe some bread for toast), but everything that was offered was good. The shuttle from the front door of the hotel to Mayo and the hospital was a huge convience. As I didn't have a car and checked in rather late, I'm not sure if this is a convient location for restaurants or shopping. I don't understand how Microtel can manage to offer such quality hotels at such a good price when all other hotel chains are either falling apart, filthy, or priced way too high. Microtel is ALWAYS my first choice.

the rooms are clean and well maintained. Price and service excellent. location, shuttle and proximity to Mayo are a hugh plus for family members of people in the clinic or hospital

The Microtel Inn and Suites of Rochester, MN is a hotel where the price belies the features. One of the most economical places to stay in Rochester, it has many of the features of the big guys. Free High-Speed Wireless Internet, Free Local AND Long Distance calls in the cont. US, along with a free Mayo Clinic Shuttle, Continental Breakfast, Extended Cable TV with over 50 channels. I first had heard recommendations from mutliple nurses at Mayo about a nice, clean, economical place to stay. While many hotels in the area run well over 100 dollars a night, the Microtel's rates start around 50. Very clean, I thought it was much newer than it actually was, and was the Microtel chains' Hotel Of The Year a few years ago.
