Holiday Inn Exp Suites Fenton, Fenton

At our check-in the front desk girls were so friendly and helpful. They helped us figure out what places to eat at and how to get to where we wanted to go. We were told we had gotten a free room upgrade! The room we checked into was extremely clean. The hotel was very quiet throughout the entire stay. The girls at the front desk were willing to get us anything we needed. The housekeeping staff was friendly as well. We travel very often and this had to be one of the best trips we've had. If you stay, make sure to check for fresh baked cookies in the evenings!

The good parts were that the service staff was very kind, room was very quiet and the beds were comfortable. That's where my good review ends. The air conditioner smelled like molded cat pee pee, the shower had pink slime on the shower curtain and in the sink around the edges, the bed had hair on it upon arrival - obviously not changed between quests, the hair dryer didn't work (good think I brought my own), the carpet very stained. I don't travel much and I've just about decided that maybe I just need 4 stars or better - I just don't think it should have to be that way to get a clean place to stay. Aren't these things important to everyone - not just the "money no object" travelers? I didn't think this was a CHEAP hotel at all - I paid about $40 more per night than my last hotel visit with the idea that it just had to be a lot better than my last experience, but definitely dissappointed in the lack of cleanliness. I wanted to give the overall experience a 2, but didn't only because every staff member we came in contact with was so kind.
