Our New Home Away From Home !!
By Lorraine M, 01/04/10
We've been to Aruba six times over the past two years, staying at the Marriott Surf Club. This past visit left us disenchanted with Surf Club. When it's crowded, the quality of vacation really suffers. We stayed two extra nights at the Divi and found this resort much more suited to us. More intimate, secluded, quieter, and we didn't have to walk far to the beach or dining. The staff was outstanding and the poolside villa ideal for a toddler and senior citizen. From now on, it's the Divi Aruba Phoenix for this family!

Nice resort for the money
By Jason, 10/12/09
We stayed at Divi as our second resort on Aruba. The resort was nice with a lot of pools and extremely clean rooms. The tower rooms were nice but the only problem was the construction and the one small working elevator that had to service the entire building including the maid staff. Many times we had to wait 15 minutes to catch the elevator to our rooms. The location is nice as we walked to restaurants in the high rise section every night. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room on the 13th floor. I would suggest though to go by a grocery store instead of shopping at the french bistro because they are rediculous. The service was not great in the restaurants other than at Pure Beach. There the bartenders were great and cared for their guests. We went numerous times there for lunch and sat at the swim up pool bar and had great meals. The sunset bistro had such bad service that we had to walk out because they forgot about us. The beach was great and they provide really nice chairs and towels for you. The gym was outstanding for a hotel gym and the spa was nice as well. The check in and out system they have set up needs a little work but I would certainly go back here.

Disaster at the Divi Aruba Phoenix
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/09
Where to begin? How about with the fact that on our second day, someone stole half the cash out of the safe in our room. Worse, when we informed the manager, he behaved as if we made the whole thing up, never apologized, but just kept questioning our "story" and our "claim." When we demanded that he provide assurance in writing that no one will clean our room without security present, he never did so. The next night our safe wouldn't open and we had to wait nearly an hour for the manager to come and unlock the thing. Again, he made us feel that we had wasted his time and that this episode was somehow our fault. He even insisted that we count our money in the safe while he was there. I guess he didn't want to miss another chance at sarcasm or to make us feel badly. Rather than apologize profusely and bend over backwards to make us feel comfortable at the Divi, the manager made us feel like criminals! Outrageous. Other than that, our tv twice has stopped working. There was no cold water in the master bath. And the construction is so shoddy that you can hear furniture moving three floors up.

Time to Renovate!!!
By Gerg, 06/06/09
We've had a unit in the Villas for more than 10 years and have always enjoyed visiting Aruba. The Divi Phoenix has had a growth spurt and all the new construction should be wonderful BUT- The existing older units are being neglected seriously. Our Villa was so moldy smelling. The couch and dresser cabinets were unusable. Appliances are badly in need of replacement. A/C units need to be cleaned or disinfected somehow. We mentioned the problems to our representative and got "Yes'd" very well, but nothing was done. Long story made short... Stay away from the Villas. We won't go back!

1st week of honeymoon
By J.C., 07/20/06
I loved this place!! The atmosphere was perfect for anyone looking to enjoy beauty, relaxation and most of all..their mate. The best part of this resort was doing nothing and loving every moment of it. There are alot of activities that you can do around the resort as well as off..whether it is deep-sea diving, snorkeling or the kukoo kanuku (which is a party bus!).

Been A Few Times
By DiviAruba, 07/04/06
I have stayed at the Phoenix in both a studio and two-bedroom unit. All the two-bedroom units are in the villa area, much closer to the beach and only 3 stories high which I like much better than the high rise like the tower area behind the villas. Rooms are hugem, but I have found this to be the case of most of the Divi resorts. There are no ovens in these rooms, but they do have convection microwaves. Cleaning staff was wonderful. I much prefer the low rise area, because I like waves in the water. The water at the Phoenix is very shallow. As previously stated by someone the pool is also small, but a new pool will be made when the new units are built.

Wonderful place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/06
It's literally on the beach. The apartments (we've stayed in a studio and a one-bedroom) are beautiful, cool, and spacious. The apartments in the tower have views of the island on one side and the sea on the other. The gym is outstanding. There's a handy little shop on the premises where you can get coffee, the paper, even lunch. The pool is pretty but too small. They are now in the process of building a bigger one. We loved it!
