ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER GO BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/08
I have never been to a more rude, disgusting hotel. When we arrived the front desk staff treated us like we were a complete nuisance. You would think they would be grateful that we booked several rooms from them because, after staying there, I know why we were almost the only ones there. Anyway, upon arrival to our room, the carpets were dirty, the comforters were itchy, there was standing water in the shower and no hot water the whole weekend. Besides that, we complained because apparent rodents in the wall kept us up most of the night and absolutely nothing was done to resolve this issue. Furthermore, I arrived home to find that they charged my debit card an extra $82. When I called to ask, the front desk clerk responded very rudely, accusing me of smoking in the room and burning the comforter then went on to tell me that she would not help me with this matter. I have absolutely never smoked in my life and the only problem with the comforter when we left is that it was ITCHY, probably from fleas knowing this was a "pet-friendly" hotel. Funny also that she could falsely accuse me of smoking in her room when I found a USED DIP cup from a previous guest in our drawer. WOW THIS WAS TERRIBLE.

Great Exterior - Poor Interior
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/07
When I arrived, I was pleased with the exterior facade and landscaping of the hotel. As well, the location is very good. When I checked in, there is a basket of dog bones on the counter and pictures of guests with their pets hanging on the walls. I like pets, but I don't like the idea of staying at a kennel. When I walked into my third floor room, I almost fell over (literally). The floor is sinking. At first I thought I must be dizzy, but then I noticed the furniture is leaning away from the walls. The nice exterior is misleading, as the interior of the hotel is old. The pool is extremely small and in direct view of everyone. There is not a fitness room. The elevator smells like cheap cologne. The price of my room totaled $131.00 for one person. The food bar is a joke. At this price, there should be more than an 8'-0" counter top with cereal and muffins. The staff was okay, but did not smile or make conversation. I travel to Memphis for business quite often, and I will never stay at this hotel again. There are much nicer hotels at the Germantown Road/I-40 exit.

Mangers were not so terriable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
When we first arrived, the manger did not have our reservation for the right day, but eventually got us a room even though they were completely booked. The rooms were fine. The Comfort Inn is in a beautiful part of Memphis although, technically, it's not really Memphis but Germantown. Don't let the name throw you. We did not meet any Germans. The breakfast was good although I screwed up my waffle. There are excellent carts to wheel your luggage around. The motrel is not all that close to Graceland, taking about 25 minutes to get there. If you like ice cream, you can get it at Brusters just down Germantown Road. There is also a Walgreen's just across the street. That's where I bought some Tums.

Camping would be cleaner
By Lance, 8/8/06
The room was disgusting. Literally. Black mold growing in the shower, and we found the previous occupant's pills (antacids?) in our bed. The laundry detergent is scented with some ungodly fragrance that makes you want to vomit. To top it off, the popcorn someone spilled in the hallway and elevator at 5pm that evening was still there, trampled into the carpet at 9 am the next morning. As far as the breakfast, just try not to make any conversation with the staff. I could not tell if the grumbling noises they were making was threatening or if it was just their level of vocabulary. We were calling other hotels at 8:30 that evening trying to get out, even if we had to pay for that night's stay. Stay away.

We go there two or three times a year
By shihtzu_momma, 9/9/05
Excellent service & very personable staff. The rooms are always clean. The hotel is pet friendly & we go there two or three times a year for dog shows at the Showplace arena. Nice area of town with good restuarants close by.

We will NOT go back.
By Vilis K, 6/18/05
Ck-in was very slow. Training new desk person while manager sat on her fat rear in her office totally ignoring customers. Requested non smoking room, got a smoking instead. Took forever to get changed to non smoking. Air conditioner in this room was not working. Again, after much frustration and waiting, was given another room. The air conditioner in this one was not much better. Manager of this place has no iterest in guest satisfaction, is lazy, and rude woman. If Comfort Inn & Suites keep her they will regret the guests who like I will never go back. Sorry folks - this is not a place that welcomes guests or treats them like guests. I've traveled for over 40 years, stayed in hundreds of motels. This one is on the bottom of my list.
