Stay away!!!!
I blocked off 30 rooms for my wedding guests in Sept. 2006. While our stay there was fine and without complaint, when everyone returned home and received their credit card statement, over half of the guests of the wedding party were overcharged, charged for extra days, or charged for stealing misc. items including throw pillows, irons, blow dryers and pillows from the bed. The people accused included grandmothers, myself (the groom), co-workers (including bosses which was very embarrassing), investors of my business (also embarrassing), aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Once contacted, the GM and regional director refused to do anything to look into the situation or resolve the situation. They said police were called to the property three times that night. I checked with the police dept and they said no calls were made. They said doors were propped open and parties were going on in the hallway all night. Another lie. At first, the GM told me it was the wedding party guests AND random other guests staying at the hotel that night that were charged. Two days later, he changed that story by saying it was only wedding party guests. My only guess is that this GM found out he had not been taking inventory of his rooms on a regular basis and decided that hitting up a wedding party for all the missing items in one night might look reasonable if he said it was rowdy. Unfortunately, this was not a young wedding crowd. My wife and I are in our 30's, so the crowd was not young and crazy. These were parents with kids, elderly guests and professional adults they are accusing. Even after the credit card companies dropped the misc. charges from everyone's credit card (eliminating all motive for me to fight this) they still would not admit to maybe something fishy going on. It was a nice hotel and it's now under Hyatt management, so I don't understand why they're believing this GM who obviously is covering up for his own mistakes. If you do stay here, please take an inventory with management before and after checking in and out. This has been extremely embarrassing for my wife and I. We picked this hotel for our guests because we received such a good deal. Obviously it was too good of a deal because everyone was overcharged so they could recover their money. It's sad to be treated this way and not really be able to do anything about it, but hopefully some people will read this and stay away.
