This was a horrible experience!

My stay was for 3 nights, paid in advance. I was moved to 3 rooms before I even got settled - 1st could not get into as the key did not work, 2nd was not cleaned as food and beverage containers were strewn around and bed was turned back indicating previous tenant, 3rd appeared clean until I turned back the sheets for inspection and discovered body hair and dirt all over the sheets which indicated it had not been cleaned. Also the bathroom mirror was spotted with water and toothpaste spots, not enough towels for 2 people and hair all over the floor. Found a quarter next to my bed frame and my friend found 1/2 of a used condom and the wrapper next to the base of her bedframe. Management did send up 2 cleaning staff to change the bed linens immediately with me being permitted to observe. While the staff were there, they described how the individual responsible for cleaning my room and who vouched she had but had not was also responsible for doing the same thing to many of the rooms on her list. Management disciplined her by docking her 4 hours in pay. However, the cleaning staff shared with me that an employee was let go the week before for doing exactly the same thing.
I went down to breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. each morning. Breakfast was not as described as many items were missing or had never been put out for guests. The management did not keep things stocked well on any day. Hallways were filthy, oil smudges and hand prints in the elevator and in some instances along certain corridors. Footprints on the carpet throughout the building. Was told 2nd floor was quiet, not to be so. Constant slamming of doors and arguments and yelling from 10 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Trying to save a buck wore me out. I think paying a little extra for a quality place (hard to find one in Somerset) will be the direction I go if I must stay in a hotel there on my next visit.
