4 reviews for Hampton Inn San Angelo, San Angelo
disappointed
By grandmother of 3, 03/03/07
We have been staying at this hotel for years. However, I am afraid it will not be our next choice. Our first room smelled so bad we had to ask for another room. When we asked to move the desk help told us we were lucky to get a room at all. Seems it was a busy weekend. I had called for a reservation 1 week ahead. The next room smelled better but was not as large of a room, which is important with 3 children. The halls were noisey all night. My husband and I never slept. My husband can sleep through any thing. The breakfast was skimpy. There was an attendent there who was suppose to keep dishes stocked. Everything was empty and selection was poor. Seems this hotel needs to get back to basics---cleanliness and customer service. Poor job!

4th Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/06
This was our 4th stay at Hampton Inn in San Angelo. It was the same high quality. We stayed three nights and housekeeping kept clean towels and reordered the room each time. Local newspaper arrived each morning. I preferred the IHop next door for breakfast though often started with coffee in the Inn and then went off to IHop. Other local restaurants to hit are the franchise Outback Steakhouse on Sherwood, a place called Mejor(que nada)(Better than Nothing)on Knickerbocker, and chinese buffet place across the highway from Big Lots. The original Zendlers is great. Being just prior to school opening in August the weekend was busy and packed at the hotel. I continue to favor this place over the older 277 strip hotels that date from the 60s and look it. Security at this hotel is excellent with room entrances being internal -very important for controlling noise and room temp. I made some simple requests with the reservations and these were taken care of prior to arrival. You may arrive with this place looking deserted, but it fills up at night. During some incredibly 100 degree typical Texas August weather, room was more than comfortable. I continue to favor rooms located at either end of the hotel corridors. As with any travel, we use the cell phone for all calls. Ten Bears

I stay here every time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/06
Everytime that I need to go to San Angelo, I stay here. I feel so at home here. I do a lot of traveling and that is important to me. I am a woman traveling alone and always feel safe when I stay here. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. The location is great. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, a mall and Walmart one exit down if you forget anything.

A Great Place
By Bill, 09/22/05
We received excellent service during our stay. Both check-in and check-out were handled in a professional and efficient manner. The complimentary breakfast was superb. A local newspaper and extra towels were readily provided upon request. We found our room spotless, comfortable and decorated in great taste. We, and more specifically our daughter, rated the indoor pool as tops, especially considering the Texas heat. Located next to a controlled access loop that crosses all major roads through San Angelo, the unit shared a parking lot with an IHOP. Additionally, a major brand pharmacy and food store are conveniently located a block away.
