Stay Somewhere Else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/09
Parking was extremely limited, had to park a long way from the room and haul all the bags. Pool was freezing. No shampoo or conditioner available in the room. Room was TINY, very small--two double beds no room for luggage at all.

dirtiest room ever
By Tory, 08/20/09
First of all, once I arrived there, they couldn't find my reservation, even though I had a confirmation number. But they did give a room at same rate, so I didn't think much of it. But the room they gave me was one of last few left for the day, and it was dirtiest room I've ever been in. The odor from the room was so terrible I had to leave the window open the whole night. The carpet seemed like it's never been vacuumed and rottening. When I complained, they said it was smoking room (even though I asked for non-smoking) and they didn't have any non-smoking room left; and gave me some air fresher. Being an ex-smoker, I know the difference from odor from cigarette and from mold, ticks, rotten. It definitely wasn't just cigarette odor. When I woke up after that night, my wife and I had such a bad headache I couldn't leave the place fast enough. When I lifted up the mattress, I saw mold growing from the box. These guys run two other hotels in Keystone, so I recommend staying away from them even if it means spending few more dollars for other hotels. Don't make the same mistake I did, it totally ruined Rushmore vacation....

DISGUSTING!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/09
I am currently staying in a pet friendly room for one night. When we opened the door the room burned my nose from the smell of urine. The carpet looks caked with gunk and I dont even want to set anything on it. As far as the service goes it hasnt been a problem, I called the front desk and asked for some air freshener and they were able to bring me something to help the nasty stench. The bathroom looks dirty, the beds are do not look appealing, and Im nervous to even turn out the lights. SO far I havent seen any bugs, but I wouldnt be surprised. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Not worth it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/09
There are hardly any spaces for parking along one entire wing of the hotel, and if you park on the other side and haul all your stuff into the hotel, it winds around like a maze with no directional signs to get you to the other side. The pool was freezing, the room was VERY small. I heard another customer complaining about same things at front desk and the person she was taking to just ignored her. There is no continential breakfast. I would recommend staying elsewhere. We had a coupon, discovered in another city, which is where I got the info. They didn't use the coupon either. It wasn't the price, $100 is about the standard we have been paying (oh they say a view room is $160). But it was that our daughter looks forward to swimming each night and we couldn't even do that.

Won't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/09
On the outside this place looks great. All money was spent on the outside. The pool is okay size but freezing. We stayed here in August 09 and the staff was not very helpful with anything. We tried to check in at 2 and were told our room was not clean yet and had to wait till check in time at 3. We got there at 5:00 and checked in. Once in our room we noticed a slipper in the middle of the room from the last guest, checked the fridge and there was pizza in there and the coffee pot was full of old coffee. Complained and was given a 10 dollar credit. The pictures look pretty good but I don't know what rooms they are taken in because we barly had room to move with 2 adults and a 4 year old in that room. The mention coupons on their website but you need to pay for this coupon book also. All in all Keystone is not a bad town to stay in but I would try one of the hotels that are not owned by this same company. The hill is hard to climb after a long day walking in Keystone also. There is no info in the room about the motel or the town so you are on your own for food. Big Time Pizza rocks.

Rooms double booked
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
I confess I never actually stayed at this hotel, however upon reading reviews of this place I called in to cancel my stay there. Only then did I find out that my room had been double booked for another family and my own. Even if I hadn't read the reviews that definatley would have turned me away.

Wonderful family resort
By Brenda, 07/28/09
Had a suite the viewed the side of Mt Rushmore. Was beautiful to sit on the balcony at night and view the lights. Rooms were very roomy and clean. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Location was ideal for touring the hills. Our family was very pleased with the hotel and look forward to a return visit.

Not Pet Friendly
By Sandy, 05/24/09
We stayed here in Oct of 2007. We had our dogs with us (1 is 65# and the other 45#) The rooms they have for pets are so small you can't even change your mind in it. The beds are so close together it is ridiculous. We had a desk crammed in there but you couldn't use it because the TV was on it. I think my bathroom at home is bigger than this whole room. You are up on top of the hill so if you walk you have to climb that big hill every time. This hotel is also under the same ownership as the Washington Inn.

Keep a eye on your valuables
By Scott, 05/23/09
I stayed there two nights and decided i would bring my black bag with my cameras and my ipod touch inside the hotel. I really didnt trust it in my car but i know now it would have been better just to leave it in the car. I never opened the bag when i was there. After i checked out i was looking for my camera and ipod and it was missing from my bag, along with a couple other things. The hotel is being really rude and wont deal with the situation and is just saying i misplaced my items, but i know they were took from my bag. All i got to say to people staying there is to keep a watch on your stuff because you never know what kind of person is cleaning your room.
