The Annie Mae Lodge, Gustavus

Everything was perfect. The friendly service, nice rooms, tasty food, the warm atmosphere in the lobby before dinner, the landscape close the beach... I really recommend you if you want to fix a good experience in your memories.

We visited Gustavus in June 2005 and stayed at the Annie Mae Lodge for 4 days. It is clean and comfortable. The food is outstanding! Not too many restaurants in Gustavus, so this is a good place to stay. They have a shuttle service that picks you up at the airport and will drive you to Glacier Bay National Park. They work around your schedule for rides and meals which is great if you are going on the Glacier Bay cruise. There are old bicycles on the porch that you can use to ride around Gustavus. Take a ride out to the small boat harbor, there are lots of bald eagles hanging around there. Also check out the Gustavus Dray, an old time gas station with working 1930s pumps. Inside is a petroleum museum loaded with all kinds of early gasoline memorabilia. There is an eagle's nest right near the lodge. You can see the mother feeding her eaglet. We really enjoyed our stay here.
