We have stayed everywhere with are service dog and with always at check in give them a copy of her tags and service papers anyway this hotel was so rude and said the only way they could let us stay is to pay a extra 250 charge I told them that was against the law and they got the manager and he said same thing and was rude in front of other people!i have a service dog that has never barked in hotel or any accidents! It is a total shame how they acted and the rude behaved staff!
The décor in this hotel has been updated, but you will find upon closer inspection that it is only the décor. The bathtub was full of stains and I did not feel comfortable giving my little ones a bath in it, even after purchasing my own cleaning supplies. It was not just dirt, they were old stains. The air conditioner was so noisy that we could not watch television with our children sleeping because we had to turn the volume up so much. If you are staying with more than one person for more than one night don’t even consider the regular size rooms. They are much too small. You will need to pay to upgrade to the suite.
The pool was disguising and had I not promised my children we would swim we would not have got in. There was a ring around the pool and a stench.
The part we did love about this hotel was the breakfast. There was a great selection and the waffles were marvelous.
The staff was very accommodating and nice in general. However try to stay away from the manager. We had an issue with items left behind. That was our fault and the staff was nice enough to agree to ship however the items were worth less than $20 and it costs us $146 to ship. This was also not the hotels fault, however we asked that prior to shipping they provide us with a price for shipping. This was not done and when I called the manager to ask about shipping he stated that they are Fairfield, not FedEx, he even asked me, “Did you see FexEx on the door when you walked in the hotel?” I felt completely belittled when I got off the phone with him.
Loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Extremly courteous staff very helpful and so nice. We stayed in a king executive suite. Very nice had a bedroom and a small living room with a flat screen tv and also a tv in bedroom area. Nice desk, radio, couch with sofa sleeper...very well lite. A good amount of room, perfect for extended stay or those with children as myself. My daughter had room to play in our hotel room. Didn't have to worry about her making too much noise. The only con and this is nit-picking would be the caulk job around the floor in the bathroom not a very good job, haha but who really cares. Housekeeper was nice. Had everything you needed, plenty of room to put your things. Its over all a nice and comfortable place to stay. Wish we were there this week instead of the Microtel Inn.
My two boys can't wait to have another swim meet in Hattiesburg so they can go back to Fairfield. The staff was wonderful with all the young swimmers staying at the inn. They were welcomed on our arrival with cookies and milk.
Normally, the continental breakfast is open from 7AM to 9:30 AM. When I told the staff that many of our swimmers had to be at the Natatorium to warm up by 7 AM on Sat & Sun, they opened up early so the kids could eat before they had to leave.
We all enjoyed the heated swimming pool and I was delighted to discover an exercise room so I could do my daily workout. (Would like to see an elliptical added by the next time I am there.)
I recommend this place highly to anyone traveling with children.
I really liked everything about the Fairfield, but the thing that I liked most was the hospitality given by ALL who work there. Everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful - from the people at the desk, to the maintenance men, to housekeeping. The place was clean, it had a nice pool, and our room had a microwave, frig, iron, ironing board, sofa, etc. It was just very complete. Oh and the complementary breakfast was also good. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR STAY THERE!
