Comfort Suites Effingham, Effingham

My family of 6 stayed at the Comfort Suites in Effingham for a family wedding. The location and ease on and off the highway was great. We all enjoyed the variety of breakfast foods and drinks (I personally loved their bold coffee and waffles). The room was very spacious and fairly clean and included a small refrigerator and microwave. We all liked the larger pool, but that was where they could have done more maintenance/cleaning - not that it was bad by any means. It just needed some t.l.c. I found the staff, especially the front desk help, to be more than accommodating and friendly. Our entire family loved the hotel and we will gladly stay there anytime we are visiting Effingham! I especially loved the very reasonable rates for such a nice hotel. Thank you to the management!

The location was perfect for visiting family and my regular hotel was booked so I thought I would give it a shot. I paid the premium price for a Jacuzzi suite so that after a long day I could enjoy a relaxing evening before driving 260 miles home the next day. Spent all day and a lot of the night visiting with family. Returned after 10pm to find the ceiling had a hole in it the size of a basketball caused by leaking water from pipes. Told by desk clerk that upstairs tennants overflowed the jacuzzi and it would stop soon and that it was a very common occurrence. Never had anyone come and check out my room. Complained again about an hour later and was told hotel was booked so new room was out. I tried other hotels and they were all booked. Water leaked all night long. Had to sleep on other side of bed to avoid damp bedcover and sheet. NO ONE from the hotel ever came to my room to check out damage or cause. Next day new desk clerk said the incident should have been handeled differently, appologized, and would have manager follow up with me. Never heard a thing. Complained to corporate, received a letter saying local owner/operator would be following up. Not a word in months. Terrible service, poor conditions in hotel. Should not bear the name Comfort Suites because this makes me never want to frequent another one of their chain hotels again. Guess its on to the Holiday Inn Express or Hilton!

This must be the best hotel experience we've had in a long time. While we arrived 2 hours before check-in, hotel staff was friendly and attentive, and our room was waiting for us. What a Room! True suite with couch that pulled out into a bed (not that it was needed), premium oversized King mattress and a mountain of pillows. Bathroom was spacious and room even had a mini-kitchen. Hotel facilities exceeded expectations. Pool was large enough for lap swimming, fitness room was quiet and secluded (and recently moved... so ask the desk about location), and the breakfast was divine. Only drawback is that this is a hotel along an interstate, but reasonably quiet despite location. Very relaxing stay.

The place overall was ok, but the service was horrible! The room was fairly clean and the beds were alright. The hotel hallway had bugs running all over it! The hotels overall value is just plain poor! I had a reservation, so thats the only reason I was stuck with the hotel. If you need to stay in the area, I recommend the Howard Johndon down the street, or the Hampton Inn a couple miles away. THE NAME "COMFORT SUITES" SHOULD NOT BE ON THIS HOTEL!

I can't really say more than It was gross, wallpaper peeling and found cockroaches in my room. I suggest considering pest control!
